I can't take vaccines because of being allergic to most of them being egg based. I found out the hard way I'm badly allergic to egg based vaccines by taking a tetanus shot. The shot sight was extremely swollen & I had symptoms of lock jaw from the shot. So I was told to not take any egg based vaccines again. So this means no flu & those type shots. So no covid shots either

I remember being out with my fiance's ex-roommate (an older lady with adult children, including an almost adult autistic son) and her son calls her, to ask if he "should get X vaccine" (he was asking if he was up to date) and her response was "yeah what do you think is going to happen? I love this because I was told not to get the vaccine by my doc, reason being, I already have kidney cancer and a brain tumor, he informed me my body was already putting up a hell of a fight against these two things and was winning the fight, deliberately introducing a foreign element could cause complications, it was the same reason they weren't using the normal treatments for cancer on me, my body was holding it's ground and fighting back, so one day before I had to get my blood filtered they drew some blood and halfway through the treatment the doc came in with a smile and told me I have Covid-19 antibodies which meant at some point and time I had gotten exposed to the virus, he asked me all the questions about fevers and stuff I told him I felt fine since my last visit and he burst out laughing, I asked him what was so funny and he explain that he could imagine the viruses getting into my system like a cartoon villain only to get completely stomped by an ammun system that has been dealing with things far worst. At that I started to laugh thinking how the cartoon villain got slammed around like loki did by the Hulk and my ammun system walking away saying punny virus. Body still winning the fight against the cancer and tumor.

Had a roommate who told me that her growing up in Western Africa and contracting malaria and living meant she had a superior immune system and didn’t need vaccines. She had a crackpot theory about how eliminating malaria was what made the US “weak” and needing vaccines. She said she wanted to bring back malaria-infected mosquitos next time she goes back home to visit. She was a nursing student. I told her not to even joke about that, because that’s considered bio-terrorism in the US.

I'm old enough that there were no vaccines available for these childhood diseases so I became sick with measles, mumps, chicken pox, etc. All these many decades later, I still remember how sick I was. I can't imagine any parent being okay with their children becoming so sick that they never forget when it is entirely preventable.

Yep! I had measles and chicken pox as a kid. I still remember it and I'm 65. We now know that there are serious complications that can occur with these diseases, and that your immunity from having had them wears off by the time you're old. Get vaxxed! These diseases can actually kill or have other long-term effects.

I had measles as a child (before the vaccine was available) and didn't enjoy it at all. Got mumps and chicken pox as an adult and I was ILL! My brother almost died of whooping cough ( he was born in 1940, no vaccine then) and if I'd failed to vaccinate my children and they went on to catch a preventable disease my mother would have killed me!

Yeah, when he mentioned that 72-year-old, I was thinking that she may not trust the tv and internet, but maybe her parents might have mentioned the effects of polio when they were kids? And tetanus is terrifying! I turned 50 last October and couldn’t wait to get my shingles vaccines. It sounds absolutely brutal… I already deal with skin problems and I don’t need that ground glass sensation they mention. And you better believe my kids are all vaccinated. Why waste a gift like that? I got chicken pox but they never had to. My oldest got Hepatitis A as a kindergartener (seems there’s a form that can be transmitted through bad handwashing) and my youngest got vaccinated for it. I think it’s great how quick they can produce them now.

As someone with autism, I'd rather be autistic than dead. I have been great at school with support from my family, I was really opposed to accepting I was autistic. The stigma on it made me convinced I couldn't be and it took me years to accept I am infact autistic and it doesn't affect how I live my life. The fact people act like having an autistic child is worse than having a dead one is a fast way to get me 0-100 in a fuming rage. You can ask any parent who has lost their child if they would rather have a dead or autistic child and I'll bet you its a 1 in a billion that they wouldn't rather have that than lose their child.

I’ve had experience with an anti-vaxxer in ninth grade in the form of my classmate. So I was diagnosed with high-functioning autism when I was nine and a half. The reason the diagnosis took so long was because I’m somewhat more empathetic than most. I’d like to say that it just makes me socially awkward and a bit introverted. This kid was in my Spanish class and I was seated at the same table as him. He was the type of kid who would play computer games on his school Chromebook during what was supposed to be our class work time. One day out of nowhere, he just said, “vaccines cause autism,” or something along those lines. Either way, I felt very offended and just snapped at him, “you shouldn’t say that around autistic people. It’s very insulting.” I think he might’ve picked it up from his parents. He moved away later that year, but it still burns me how anyone could believe in a theory that was debunked decades ago. Also, why do people act like having autism is a curse or something? We’re not helpless. We don’t need to be coddled or anything

I was just about to say that! I am also Autistic, work with children with Autism, volunteer with the Autism Society. While there are challenges, I really see it as a blessing now. I know there are plenty of people who need a lot of support, but a lot of us are incredibly smart and think differently, which is necessary for the changing world. It also shows diversity. The Predator (2018) makes the case that Autism is the presentation of the next step in evolution, and I can't say I disagree. Thank goodness I'm vaccinated! (Totally a joke. I'm just saying parents should love their children as they come, not worrying about their oncoming disabilities)

I agree. Even if it caused autism, it's not worse than a child dying. I don't think many of them think the "dead" part. If their kid gets sick, they will just go to the doctor or hospital to get treated and don't want to accept the connection that vaccines do help with illnesses. Some people think because diseases like polio isn't a part of society, so we don't need vaccines. The vaccines haven't eradicated the diseases, many are still here. So they use those "excuses" not to vaccinate because they don't see the evidence of needing them. Hopefully some day they will be successful in eradicating them but we will always have diseases to battle.

Because people have misinformation or are ignorant about what autism actually is. That’s why it’s important to educate and speak out about what autism is, and switch it from a “negative” word to a positive “their brain works and senses things differently”. Too many still think of it as a horrible disease rather than a neurodivergent thing.

I worked at a vet as a technician for several years, & the anti-vaxxer thing is just as big a problem for animal medicine as for humans. I once had a lady bring in her new 7 week old puppy for a routine health check, & when I was getting the patient’s history, she strait up asked me if there was a way to remove the previously administered vaccine. Apparently, the breeder was an actual breeder (not a miller), got the pup & its litter mates vaccinated at a vet at 6 weeks like you’re suppose to, & provided the appropriate paperwork to prove it. Lady didn’t want her pup to have that “poison in his system” & wanted it removed. What followed was over an hour of me & the doctor explaining how that’s not possible & how vaccines worked. We also told her that she would need to come back when the pup was 9 weeks old to get its next set (then again at 12, 15, & 18). After she told us how she’d put the pup on the ground, we told her how we treated Parvo at the facility & it was a big concern. (We had signs up everywhere letting people know this, & saying not to put their puppies on the ground.) When she refused, we told her to watch out for vomit & diarrhea, b/c those were signs. We also told her the incubation time was 2 weeks, right when she’d need to come back in. So, it wouldn’t hurt to come back. She refused, cussing & cursing us every way possible, then left. Roughly 2 weeks later, she returned b/c the pup was vomiting. Surprise! It was Parvo. I explained how the virus worked to her, then told her the treatment cost. (Since it was a small pup, up front payment was $300, but could get as high as $500-$600 by the end, depending on how bad it got, & if the pup survived. Believe it or not that’s VEEEERRRY cheap for Parvo treatment.) She refused, & I told her, again, that without treatment the pup WOULD die. But, w/ treatment, it was a 50/50 shot. She still refused, tried blaming the vaccine that the breeder gave for the pup getting it. Then tried arguing w/ me & the doctor that Parvo was a bacteria & not a virus (it’s not), then left. 3 days later she stormed in claiming we killed her puppy. Bottom line? Get your pets fully vaccinated when they’re young & annually as adults.

They’re also encouraging pet owners to get titer tests too as sonetimes there’s such a thing as over vaccination. Such as rabies for example used to be required yearly. Then they found it wasn’t necessary and they could last more like 3 years or so. So they can measure with a titer how much immunity they still have and if it’s enough to still protect then the vaccine can wait.

My grandparents and great-grandparents lost children to polio, meningitis, and the Spanish flu. You can bet we were vaccinated, and never had any problems. Unfortunately, there was no measles vaccine when I was young. At 27, I was hospitalized for a week with measles, and my mother was told that there was a 50/50 chance that I would not live. In my country, Australia, 92% of people over 16 are vaccinated against Covid-19, whereas the figure is only 62% in the USA. The USA has the highest number of deaths from Covid-19 in the world, 1.2 million. Australia has 18,000 dead. If Australians died at the same rate as Americans, we would have 242,000 dead. Vaccines work.

Back in the first half of the 1900s, my grandfather's older brother had severe complications from meningitis, including intellectual disability and requiring 24 hour care. I don't remember whether he lived to be in his 50s or only his 40s (this was before my time), but if he had a vaccine, I fully believe he wouldn't have had it, and would have lived to be as old as his siblings (sister passed away in her early 90s, his brother (my grandfather) passed away in his late 80s). Vaccines are a desperately needed and undervalued good to our society, for everyone -- including those who cannot have them. Please remember that we're all in this fight together. That's what this life is all about.

Not a doctor, but work at a hospital. In the height of the pandemic we had separate seats for people without the vaccine. We sat a mother and child in them. The kid proceeded to lick the hospital floor. Mom did nothing to stop him. Just let the kid lick a floor that has every bodily fluid that can come from the human body on it (puss, blood, vomit, amniotic fluid). I gagged looking in that direction for a month.

I've just yesterday seen a kid licking the display glass of the Underground map at the station while waiting for the train mum looked multiple times to see them doing it and just let them .... . So many people touch that with their bare hands or lean against it everyday and it's not cleaned as often as the train. I have a strong stomach but I had repress my gag reflex. Thankfully while I was on hospital rotations (Im an EMT) nobody licked anything Im not sure I would've held my lunch in especially after being the one to hastily partially mop up lots of blood and other liquids from the floors almost every shift and knowing on some days that was the only cleaning that was happening for next at least 12 hours. And I can hold my lunch in pretty well. Also fun are Anti Vax collegues that then procede to not wear gloves while touching the patients (soiled) clothes or catheter or touching stuff in their bordering on messy horder home 🤢

When our son was born, they had a nurse come in and talk to us about the initial vaccines for newborns and why they are beneficial. She even had a pamphlet she was supposed to over with us. We weren't being rude. But we did cut her presentation short and told her to give our son whatever vaccines he needed. She practically hugged us and thanked us for not being antivaxxers 😅 My husband and I were both sickly babies with complications at birth. The initial vaccines for newborns saved our lives, as did all the other vaccines we received growing up. Parents who don't have their kids vaccinated shouldn't be parents in the first place

I'm a hog farmer, and even though I sell to a "natural" pork company (if antibiotics are ever used on an animal they have to be sold on the regular market, no farrowing crates, etc.) we are allowed to use vaccines. I use 5 of them, and 3 of them are combination vaccines. I see two sides to the vaccine dilemma. Vaccines work, guaranteed. I used to have alot of meningitis cases in the pigs caused by strep. It hits hard and fast. Uncoordinated motor function, seizures, nystagmus, and death. Antibiotics given early on in the course of the disease, in addition to manually watering them if required saves quite a few. Now, I use an autogenous strep vaccine targeting specific strains, and i only have occasional cases of meningitis now. On the flipside, I give a circovirus/mycoplasma vaccine (made by Merck), that negatively effects about 1 in 50 to 1 in 100 pigs. They start having convulsions, then start to go limp and you think they are going to die, and then after a little while, they come back out of it. Never have had a death because of it, though. My vet prescribed epinephrine (may be anaphylactic shock), and I have it on hand now in case I need to use it.

When I was a kid, our country had a really good DOH secretary, probably the best we've ever had. He was very effective in spreading info to the masses, that people still remember them now, decades later. One of the things I remember in the explanation regarding vaccines (simplified for children to understand) was that it was like practicing for sports like boxing. You get a sparring partner to toughen you up for the main event. Then with the internet, there are info about the history of vaccines, and pretty much over a century worth of evidence about it's effectivity. I am now 75 and the only vaccines available as a small,child were - none! So, I’ve had measles and chicken pox (3 times - yes, 3 times!!!!!). But we also got vaccinated (sugar cubes, etc.) when the polio vaccine came out (I was close to polio when I was 7). Anti-vaccinators drive me crazy! My sine (now 43) was vaccinated when he was a baby and has never had a single health issue (but he did have a slight case of chicken pox at age 7) - no vaccine at that time. Am I vaccinated for Covid? You bet your bottom I am! Health is one adea that drives me up a wall about social media - things get so twisted and full of just plain lies and they are passed in to people who, in my book are just plain stupid!!!!!

This season i got flu vaccine. Month later I got scheduled in work with Girl that caught flu bit didn't had symptoms until the next day. 2 days later i started to fell sick but its was a "mini-flu" - i had muscle pains, head pain, light sensivity, and fatigue but only slightly elevated temperature. And only for 2 days. That Girl was on sick leave for 2 weeks, massive fever. Friend tried to tell me "oh, you paid for your vaccination and still got sick!". And i said " don't you think that severity of my symptoms don't quite match in the same category as the Girl's symptoms?"

Different subject, but it is normal for people to not trust new technology that was not around when they were young. Going with your example of cars, for example, when cars first came out there were laws that mandated someone on foot with a flag be like a mile ahead of you waving the flag to indicate a car was coming because they feared something on the streets that could go 15MPH (10ish more than a horse). Continuing down the line of transportation, when trains first started to become a thing people feared their brains would fly out of their heads. I can only imagine the fear of our ancestors when the wheel was invented. I'm still pretty young, and I'm guessing you are as well... we both will eventually fear new technology in our later years (if not already). I grew up with computers, work in IT, and know how most computer related things works. I have to admit that even I'm already a little fearful of the future of AI.

I asked people to be vaccinated against covid, as my gf is pregnant, we have immunocompromised members in our families and that there would compromised people at said party. I am from the generation that was given the measles vaccine, but not the booster. They didn't know we needed it. I was one of the unlucky ones to get measles. I have been seriously ill, mostly with kidney infections, stones, and even many infections and stones at the same time. also had those infections get into my blood many times. I can assure you, I have seldom been nearly as sick and in as much pain as when I had measles. Perhaps it isn't as bad for others. I can only go by my personal experience. All I can tell you is, I would have cheerfully walked 100 miles uphill, barefoot, over broken glass, carrying my children, if that's what I had to do to get them somewhere to be vaccinated. I also had a friend who survived smallpox and another who had polio. The one who had smallpox had huge swaths of her body covered in scars that looked like they came from third degree burns. The one who had polio came out fine until he reached his early 30s. That's when post polio syndrome hit. That severely and permanently crippled him in the prime of his life. Both of those people had access to vaccines as children but, for whatever reason, didn't get them. The anti-vax movement wasn't nearly as big as it is these days, but perhaps they fell victim to some precursor to to. Maybe their parents were simply incompetent. I never thought to ask.

I’ve realized recently that growing up, one of my classmates (grades 3-6) wasn’t fully vaccinated, not sure if they completely unvaccinated or partially unvaccinated, but I remember going down to the makeshift vaccination room in the school and the one student had all these papers and they were saying “My parents say I don’t need to get vaccinated” and “I’ve done this in the past” so maybe there’s an alternate timeline where I get a serious illness from her and never fully recover or even die. Of course, I have no idea which (if any) vaccines she had, so it’s possible that she had the vaccines for the contagious diseases, although that would be kind of odd to get those and not the others considering that anti vaxxers mostly spout off about the vaccines for contagious diseases specifically.

In the 70s and early 80s there was a controversy over the whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine possibly causing brain damage. My sister was 2 years older than me and had her vaccine, but before I was due to have mine, the controversy ramped up, with even a documentary about it on the BBC showing a room full of affected kids. This was 1981. I totally understand why my parents chose not to vaccinate me, when the news is reporting the risk you tend to believe it. I of course caught whooping cough and dad would often have to rush into my bedroom at night to hit me on the back and get me breathing. One night he clipped his toe on the edge of the door, managed to get me breathing then hopped around swearing holding his foot and now broken toe. Mum came out to see what was wrong and apparently took one look at his face and burst out laughing! So let that be a lesson to you, vaccinating your kids can save you from harm!

Wouldn't want people to have bodily autonomy around; can only deal with people who blindly trust him without question. Okay, (I am not an anti vaccine person) but riddle me this; why are many vaccines given to babies too young who don't even have their own immune system yet? This makes no sense because if their parents were vaccinated they would be too during that time. A vaccine would be pointless until they are older with their own immune system. This is just one question. I would give my kids some vaccines when they're old enough but not every single one. Any doctor who insists his way or the highway isn't a good doctor he is a religious cult leader. Knowledge of medicine constantly changes. For example, doctors in the 50s told pregnant women to smoke to relieve stress. This is just one of many things but my point is people should ALWAYS have bodilly autonomy and make their own choices because if later down the line the science was wrong they were not denied the chance to go with their intuition on it. Being forced to do things sounds clear cut to you because you don't know any history and can't imagine people don't always have your best interest in mind but by no means should your lack of insight be imposed on others.

I’m in my 60s and have a respiratory condition. I have a friend who’s an ER doctor. She lives in a difficult city, but I sometimes seek her advice on things medical. When the COVID vaccine came out, I asked my friend if I should get it. She said yes, and that was good enough for me. I was working for an HVAC service company as one of three service technicians. The other two were firmly anti vax. Whenever we got a call where there was potential for COVID exposure, they asked not to be sent, which meant I was the one who usually went. They were afraid of COVID but wouldn’t get vaccinated. Go figure. Anyway, I never got COVID, but one of them did. When masking was still required, I was send to a house where a husband and wife were running a daycare. The husband was adamant that I not wear a mask in the house. When I refused to take it off, he called my boss and requested another tech. When the boss told him that no one else was available, he let me do the work but kept lecturing me about how vaccinations and masks were taking away our liberty. I had a great aunt who contracted polio before the Sabin and Salk vaccines were developed. It destroyed her legs. She had to wear these metal braces. She was thankful that the polio only affected her legs. A lot of folks ended up living out their lives in Iron Lungs. The pre vaccine world was a pretty scary place.

I worked for a county health department. I was office help, not nurse. We had a new computer app from the state that tracked vaccinations given by health departments across the state. I was told it was necessary since we had a lot of farm workers in our counties. They would bring in their children to be vaccinated every time they moved to a new crop in another county. They had very few children vaccinated in their home country and knew how bad those diseases could be. So their children were going to be protected by golly. They weren't happy about the new system that gave the nurses the vaccination information from other counties. It was while working there I began to get yearly flu shots. Still alive after almost 30 years and yearly flu shots. And my other vaccinations are up to date as well.

I don't understand why some people are like "well this vaccine caused bad reactions in this very small number of people so I'm not gonna take it!" like yeah, that's gonna happen with any medicine. If you refuse to take any med that a small number of people have had bad reactions to, then good luck finding treatment for whatever you have. Like, I had an extremely rare adverse reaction to a common ADHD med, but I don't go around telling people to avoid it because it seems to work very well for most people. And I've heard of people having bad reactions to my current ADHD med, but it's never caused me any serious problems other than some of the most common mild side effects. So in other words, yeah, bad reactions to vaccines can happen (it's extremely rare but it is a thing), but just because a couple of people have experienced them doesn't mean you will. For most people, it does waaaayyy more good than anything. I mean, if something has been causing lots of serious problems in a large number of people (as in, over half the number of people who have gotten it), I can understand why you wouldn't want to take it (I mean, we don't want another thalidomide incident! Ik it's a med and not a vaccine but what I'm saying technically applies to both). But if it's just a few? You are at virtually no risk. And there's not a single tested, common, and necessary vaccine that has caused serious problems in over half the number of people who have gotten them.

For anyone wondering, the med I had an adverse reaction to was Strattera. And after doing some research, manic episodes and psychotic breaks (I had the former) are uncommon but not too rare in people with bipolar disorder. I have suspected for awhile I have cyclothymia, which is like a mild version of bipolar. So, there's a possibility it wasn't 100% the Strattera, but that it might have contributed (I haven't been diagnosed, it's only a suspicion, and if I don't have cyclothymia or bipolar or anything, the Strattera could still have caused it. It's just very rare in people without those disorders. Either way, I do think the Strattera at least contributed to it). But considering that not everyone who takes Strattera has a manic-depressive disorder, it's still a rare reaction, just not completely unheard of. My current ADHD med is Adderall which is working wonders for me!

When I joined the Army at 19, I actually could have claimed a religious exemption because I was a Christian Scientist. However, I was smart enough to know that my "faith" was never going to be "perfect" enough for me to be immune from all the nasty things that could come up during my assignments to other countries. Got everything. No longer a Christian Scientist (just general Christian, now) and make sure to get every vaccine that is recommended and available. I think it's foolish to refuse a vaccine for something that has a huge chance of messing you up for the rest of your life (or kill you) because there's a tiny chance of a "bad reaction", most of which will clear up in a few days.

Some years ago I was working in public health here in NZ and with a major childhood vaccination campaign coming up I was tasked with overviewing promotion and countering anti Vax propoganda. A few days before the campaign started we got wind of a major anti Vax publicity drive around the idea that "they" ( Ministry of Health, ie government) was going to do things to your children, Puting them at all sorts of risk. My response was, the day prior to the campaign starting we got all of our health staff, Drs, nurses, admin etc to bring their children and grandchildren, who were of the appropriate age, into one of our clinics for vaccinating and invited TV and other media to attend. That night the news was running stories of how those involved in delivering the programme were showing their confidence in the vaccine by having their own families vaccinated (my son was one vaccinated). Follow ups in the morning news consolidated the message and there was no sign of the anti Vax message, apparently they had made a big investment in their "them and us" message which was now useless. The programme was very successful.

Yeah, logical fallacies are basically the bread and butter of the anti-vax movement. Most of them don't know what a logical fallacy is but they use tons of them to promote their claims without even knowing it. At 26 the only vaccines I have to keep updated is my tetanus, an covid boosts, when I was a kid my mom was scared of me getting sick because I was already a very sickly baby and becoming a very sickly child (with throat and hearing problems) so as soon as I was in the age range for any vaccines she signed me up for them, I remember getting multiple shots during visits to knock out as many vaccines in one go as possible, my last big round of vaccines was when I was 11 and mom asked what vaccines would be left after this and the Dr said a few that was typically suggested to get by the time your in your 20's and mom asked if there was any reason why I couldn't get them now and the Dr said having it sooner then later would just mean I have all know vaccines done then, it would just be an extra 3 shots, I be getting that day, 1 vaccine being a set of 2 because each shoulder had to get one, walked out that day having taken 8 shots, 4 in each shoulder, my limbs left like lead the next few days but I was told no more shots for a good long time as far as my vaccines went Also I was a kid that got chicken poxs but also vaccinated for it, I started to show signs of it and getting sick when I was around 3 so my parent took me and they got me the shot and according to my dad it went away for 2 days an then came back hitting me like a train because I also got a ear infection too, Dr said it because I was already sick with it, the vaccine had a low chance of winning that race in this case since it was designed to prevent it from entering my body an not with it already present, that is also after my mom became much more on top of me getting all vaccines done, she always felt bad when I got sick on top of being a sickly child with having to get alot of surgeries

You can't refute water causes autism either.... or pizza, or sunlight, or moonlight, or darkness, or oxygen, or..... Nor do you need to. The burden of proof is on the person making the claim. You can never prove a negative. So no one can actually prove vaccines don't cause autism. You can't prove tickling your baby doesn't cause autism either. You also can't prove flying pigs don't exist. Just because we can't find them doesn't mean they aren't out there. So, if someone claims vaccines cause autism, they must prove it. If they claim flying pigs exist, they must prove it. The burden is on the one making the claim. In life we are constantly inferring things based on experience and common sense. Sometimes this works well for us, sometimes it doesn't. Correlation is not causation, but all of us have a hard time ignoring correlated events. For example, many people believe going out in the cold weather can lead to a cold. This is because we often get colds in the winter when we are all mostly stuck indoors and the cold is easier to spread. Since all of us occasionally go outside in the cold and we almost all get a cold in the winter time, we correlate the two and conclude they must be related. Ironically, going outside in the cold actually lessens the chance of getting the cold in most cases since there are less people outside in the winter. Autism often shows itself around the same time people get their first vaccines. Correlated but not related. But when something bad happens to us or those we love, we look for the cause and think of things we did or had happen to us right before the negative event. This helps us survive but sometimes makes us weary/scared of things we shouldn't be. Thankfully, humans are also capable of doing research and research has shown time and time again there is no link.

I live in California so when enrolling kids in school, parents have to provide proof that the kids have gotten their vaccines. Felt safe going to school knowing that almost everyone around me is vaccinated (and kept anyone who couldn't get vaccinated safe). I don't know any anti-vax people as most of the people where I'm from come from outside of the US where vaccines weren't easily accessible so they have seen what these diseases do to people. My own mother had chicken pox and both my parents were lucky to get some vaccines when others couldn't.

It’s not really something parents talk too much about but the ones I’ve bought it up with have noticed it to. Sometime around a year and half to like two they go from just a baby, not really understanding anything or how their body interacts with the world, light on and no one home to someone suddenly being home. Over night it’s like a switch happens and your little baby that knows nothing about nothing and has been acting on auto pilot this whole time wakes up. I find it hard not to connect that with parents of children with autism who go, one day they just changed

I think the funniest in my life, is in elementary school in Colorado. I had to get 7 vaccination shots when we moved from Wyoming. I had to get all the shots in 1 day. My parents aren’t Anti-Vax, we were just poor. My dad wasn’t happy to find out my child support didn’t go to vaccines for school, when living with my mother in Georgia.

I have been vaxxed and for things and have never had any problems mentally, as I am a college graduate. I thank to God my father was educated and worked as a pediatrician in some of the best hospitals in the United States who was able to get me and my siblings the vaccines to keep us safe. The only vaccine that didn't prevent but greatly lessened the effect was the covid, I was twice vaxxed still got it but it was just like a cold for me. That was a "fun" Christmas.

Yeah, you don't develop or get autism in life. You are born with it. You either have it at birth or never have it. Period. However, it is hard to see the signs before one and basically impossible before six months. However, most parents don't really notice it until their child is 2-3 years old because the signs come subtly. People that only see your child here and there can almost always notice it (although may not know what it is) after the child reaches their first year.

Holy shit its actually normal to space out vaccinations I've had 3 general practitioners in my life and all three agreed its common practice to space out vaccinations and most pediatricians recommend it. Of course if you disagree go ahead early in your kids life bring them to the doctors office for half a dozen needles in the arm all at once then wonder why your kid refuses to go for his checkups for the rest of his childhood. The poor kid will probably be traumatized by Mr white coat and his half dozen doses of spikey liquid pain.

I’m personally in the process of getting tested for autism (I’m 23 but have showed symptoms of it for years) while I’m fully vaccinated, I don’t believe it caused my autism (also, part of what caused the long wait to get tested was my family telling me I was “seeking attention to make up for attention I didn’t get as a kid” mainly my nana that says that and even now she’s telling me not to get tested saying there’s “nothing wrong” with me)

Going to India with a friend - she did not want the travel vaccinations. I found a story (probably bogus) online aying that authorities had boarded buses and demanded to see vaccination certificates, forcibly vaccinating those without, not changing the needle! Worked to persuade her to vaccinate.
