I had to collect carts in the parking lot of a former job. I loved it when people didn’t put their carts away, because it gave me the chance to take a break from a toxic job I didn’t like very much at the time. And I know a lot of other employees that are okay with it or simply don’t care. But aside from all of that I really don’t think anyone should be judged, as to their character, on whether they put the cart back or not. I’ve met plenty of assholes who are meticulous when it comes to putting their cart back. In its proper place. And I myself have not put a card back in the past for different reasons sometimes have not been feeling well or if someone was giving me stalker vibes. Etc… So please give me a break with the “you can tell a lot about a person if they don’t put their cart away” bullshit.🤦🏻♀️

The cart issue could be solved by requiring a coin (you can buy them at the service desk for $2, to be able to operate and use the cart. Putting it back will release the coin, to be used next time. If you don’t put the cart back, the person picking it up will in the end have a coin of $2 worth. We have this system over here, works perfectly.

Story 1: One of my former jobs(which is now 1 of the descriptions of my current) was to gather those carts, & it's ALWAYS bothered me when people leave those carts out in the open like that, especially the rider carts, because they're not even supposed to BE outside(doesn't the concrete damage them or something?). It just shows me that nobody even acts like what they do is even worth the word "attention, yet they wanna complain why there aren't any carts in the front, or any juice in the rider carts. It's cause, the readiness of ANYTHING you're expecting is totally irrelevant as far as your concern goes. Contradicting, but that's all I see when it comes to customers anymore. Story 2: Good for that guy to not be intimidated by, or even as such fall for that bull bull Karen tried to pull. Considering how routine this conflict has been, I'd wanna make sure that the only thing she should ever gets from that company anymore is a football field's length away, because that's what makes a Karen a Karen. She knew EXACTLY what she was doing, & when it comes to employees of any establishment, who would be a better sucker than the "even just barely" new guy? .

Person in the first story is the karen. I put my cart away and am ticked off when people leave their carts in the middle of the parking lot, but confronting them about this thing and engaging in an argument with these people because they dont agree with you is actually kind of a karen move... Also, for the 3rd story, is it just me or did I miss all of the bad treatment from the dad that the OP keeps mentioning? He keeps mentioning vaguely but thats it...

Story 1: Yeah not putting a shopping cart away properly or just abandoning it in a parking stall or elsewhere is pretty annoying, but the OP really should've just let it slide or ignored it or put it away themselves rather then trying to engage with some dumb Karen. Things never ever go well. Story 2: Yaaay...i get to say my fav 4 words again here; "Right To Refuse Service". Stores like this really really need to start saying it to people like this dumb Karen. I swear people like this only go out in public just to be annoying. People in retail should be allowed to be rude and talk back to people like this... i know i would allow it if i were the store manager. Hope they ban her. Story 3: I think the OP could've omitted a lot of details about their life outside of their dad's home, but glad that the OP is doing better overall after leaving their dad's house and life.

Getting mad at others for not putting the cart away is the ultimate Karen move. Not cool, OP1. Mind your own fucking business. I worked in a dept store as a teen, and whenever the checkout clerks radioed to ask for someone to volunteer to take care of stray carts in the parking lot, there were always at least 5 of us jumping at the opportunity, because it meant we could go outside and not have to deal with Entitled Karen customers who expect us to have an encyclopedic knowledge of all products in the store despite being paid a minimum wage. As such, I never put the cart away unless it’s raining or cold outside.

It sounds like the op in the third story is the entitled one. They were raised entitled but the dad whom was just trying to cope with a motherless situation, must have gotten sick of the behavior of brat he raised and was trying to fix it. The kid has flipped they’re treatment around like they are the angel with a bad family. You can tell because op has no bad behavior mentioned and they’ve since checked out of life without an adult there to provide structure. Poor thing never had a solid mother so the father had to be both, and that sucks, but they need to not complain about it online and live in reality.
