Story #2: Dealing with the illnesses and issues each other has is part of loving someone. That is why the vows say "in sickness and in health". You can't say you love someone and expect it to only be when they are doing well. You could have something happen to you tomorrow and she would take care of you. The 4th story is sad because I see exactly how the op is spiraling. A huge sign of depression is isolating yourself and cutting off your best support systems. Their girlfriend could be their best advocate because she obviously cares for him deeply. Therapy most definitely; and then work on opening up to her. I just hate hearing stories like this online because I see where its going because I've been there but I can't do a damn thing for a stranger behind the screen.

story 4: i don't think the the friend's advice is so horrible. I don't think he should break up, i kinda think the friend is interested in the girlfriend and wants her free, but therapy could be good for. Sometimes we need to hear from other people that we're ok, a mom or a wife or a girlfriend are too close for us to believe, so it might help him to talk about his feelings of not feeling that self consciousness. So I dont think he should give up on a loving relationship, but rather work on himself to believe he deserves to be happy.

Story1: idk how he found the one officer that doesn’t hate everyone who isn’t Chinese. My dad who goes on business trips has been mugged 3 times(fortunately his company reimburses him every time) the first time the police sorta tried as in they took the report and said we’ll do our best. Story 2 Hi, from how it sounds, it sounds about the same as the genetic disease that both me and my dad have. He is about 36 and has to use a cane to get around and some days he can't get out of bed. Because of what it does where it hardens your bones making them more prone to breaking or snapping, it can either be a burden, or something you eventually get used to, especially with people talking about it. From the specific one that i know of, there are 12 different variations making it very hard to live, 1 being the most simple, 12 being practically fatal where you can't walk at birth and never will without surgery, where you still will be at higher risk of being injured. It varies between people, but if you want to ask in a way that will not seem selfish or insensitive, you can say "hey, I know you are very fragile and break frequently, if you ever need a break to not feel overworked or like it is to hard to do, I can do it and when you feel a bit better, we can continue working together to make the job go quicker and more efficient" that way it seems like you are abidly trying to help her not feel like you are just trying to make her work as much as she can

Last story: She OD'd a bit on the medicine. It dries out and irritates the whole mucousal linings into the throat, making everything painful and irritated. It can also cause insomnia, anxiety or high blood pressure. A google search would have helped them both. I've done it, family members have done it. It was especially bad after I had to get surgery. Allergic responses are extremely rare given how they work. The more common symptoms could be exacerbated by an epipen.

Story 1: Karen's are everywhere... its ridiculous. Im honestly really surprised that the Karen didnt get arrested for lying to the police, especially in China, of all places. The officials there generally don't mess around. The fact that she would use the 'youre a foreigner' card made me scoff as well. It happens everywhere, not just in North America. Good job for the OP, the Ice Teacher for no taking her crap, and that he got a cop that spoke english there too, because if not, things could've turned ugly. Story 2: If the OP has major doubts like that, then he should leave. OP isn't a jerk for having those feelings and thoughts, but if he isn't able and willing to take care of his gf when she's having issues with her health, then he really shouldn't be in a relationship like that. Story 3: Gee... i wonder why no one visits the MIL here. Based on what was told here, she sounds pretty sneaky, manipulative and doesn't care what people say/think around her. If i were the OP and the husband, i would flat-out reject the hotel and the trip and plan something else that will benefit them better, and nothing that caters exclusively to the MIL. Also, do NOT let her give you a single cent for a down payment on a home. That is just going end very badly, and if/when it does, she'll try and claim partial ownership, which will turn into a legal nightmare. Story 4: OP really needs to ignore all the negativity around him and focus on the fact that he has a winner in terms of his gf. She seems to be totally in love with him and committed to him. I can understand being weary and on edge when other guys approach her, but she quickly rejects them all. Also, what's the deal with your "friend"? It sounds like all he wants to do is score with her. If anything, the OP should dump the "friend" and not his gf. Story 5: The mom does sound pretty annoying to deal with if she is like that all the time, but the OP really should see the doctor or go to a hospital or clinic here. Don't let things like that get worse. Also, it might not have been a good idea to use one of your siblings' nasal spray. The guy in story 4 is going about this all wrong, he needs to put his foot down with his friends and family, he is letting himself get chipped down by "jokes" over time and if they dont stop its time to cut them out. The girlfriend has done nothing but being loving, and as a norwegian myself i can say i value having someone to share my hobbies with more then anything, she probably finds his chubbyness and nerdyness quite attractive, norway is a progressive and open minded country. If she wanted a handsom man with money she would have stayed in norway, one of the richest and with on average extremely handsome men, not move down to spain to live with this guy, her entire life was set if she stayed in Norway

I feel his pain on being chubby and ugly myself because I am also and feel the same way. However, hitting the gym will give you the confidence not only getting rid of your self-consciousness, also gives you more confidence on yourself. That's what I am doing right now. Story 4. DO NOT BREAK UP WITH HER, if she is comfortable and not afraid to be with you in public, she's a keeper. She rejected every guy that wanted her number, she moved to be closer to you, also she would of high tailed it within 48hrs, and the best thing is she goes home with you at the end of the night. If she not ashamed to be and around you, maybe you are letting your subconsience overloading. ima share a story about my mother. its short so dont expect much oh and it includes near suicide so like um.. read if u want ok so my mother was caring towards me for a couple years, yet turned quite toxic towards me. to the point i was making a noose she kept me away from my father, who is actually a good parent. she had friends downstairs for a while (theyre important) they got into a fight that turned physical, and then she resented them from then on. she turned paranoid she then turned near physical harmful towards me to the point im scarred emotionally; i can't sleep that well cause of her. i know she broke a couple laws in britain (where we are), yet i just dont know what to do. it got to the point i got counselling in my school, and where she got reported, and im with my father shes trying to make it better by apologising and.. buying gifts as an excuse. she always did this to me, and thinks money can fix mental scars i need advice this is vague but still yeah advice? should i report her to the police, get therapy, or something else i do feel bad its just that she was incredibly manipulative, and guilt trips me quite often. i have a dog there which i really love and miss but id always get tormented there

Ok, for the story at 13:00 the best solution for that is to hit the gym. Im not trying to be a "toxic male" or whatever ppl call it. However, as a man that was in that guy's shoes, it really is the best option, losing weight and gaining a good amount of muscle can really change someone's appearance in a very positive way, u will be a lot more healthy than u were before, and on top of that u will build more confidence within urself. Trust, by u doing this will make ppl stop judging so hard or at least a lot less because now they see that she is with a very strong man. just saying

All I gotta say about the skrek with the hot girlfriend is this.(also applicable to those who are in the same situation as the OP) So what if you feel the eye burn of people staring at you with the "why the hell is she/he with that thing?" Yeah I get it, it makes you feel lesser, self conscious and inadequate to some extent......... But how does the hot significant other make you feel?. If I were you, I'd definitely try therapy (therapy is for everyone and it's truly amazing) and if you hate the looks people give you guys in public, you could even try going to a gym or something and get into really great shape just to shut up all the random people you don't know. I'm all for body positivity and don't think looks are everything, so the gym recommendation is purely to get all the random to shut up and leave you guys alone. on the 4th story you're completely off. the friend is not telling him to breakup with her because she did something wrong he is telling him that OP is not ready for a relationship. and that he's going make problems for her until he fixes his issues. sometimes when you're the one that's wrong the best thing you can do for your partner is leave them.
