Story 2: Report her to her work. Most places that deal with children won't let you come to work if you have lice.
@Zinervawyrm
@Zinervawyrm Жыл бұрын
I agree! That's gross, but the kid/kids who also have it should quarantine or something for a few days, as well as the lady. I remember back when I was a kid, a friend down the block who went to a different school than me, caught lice. I was not allowed to play with her for about 2 weeks, until her parents confirmed with my parents that she was lice free.

Story 2: anonymously report her to her job bc she may lose her job for putting kids health at risk. Also, invest in mint-based hair and cleaning products (tea tree mint shampoo worked better than the actual lice shampoo in my experience, also, since her hair is thick and wavy it may not hurt for her to use mint oil in her hair, since it could act to keep her hair moisturized as well as kill lice)

From a psychiatrist point of view, the carrot boy one is interesting in how small insignificant points in our life, as a child, can really affect our mindsets as adults. Even after being an adult all that time it took a jarring moment, even more embarrassing than the initial insult, to snap him back to the "let it go" mindset.

You can never tell someone they let it go or not, recently I got one of my friend (who is now quite famous in Thailand about sharing positive quotes) and he messaged me that he apoligised of what he did to me, and recently he thought of those things he'd done and feel really bad about it, it might hurt the do-ers, it might hurt the victims, we don't know, it's not us to assume anyone should get over it, or could get over it, whether who commit or who's the victim of such bullying or prank. For the result, I told him that it was in our adolescent years and we kids do anything carelessly and never thought of the results or chain reactions. Do I remember all of the things he'd done to me? Totally never forgot. But do I forgive him? Yes. I mean, I'm too old to get grudge over something and yes those thing he'd done still haunts me the very day, but to see him happy and fully smile again and feels like [this is Thai idiom] "Lift the Mountain off the Chest" is always something nice to do. I still hurt a bit after that day? Yes, but not as much as before. There'll be a point in our life that we still feel bad but less bad because we forgive them and let they have a new life, and us too, like Eva Mozes Kor, the Nazi experiment survivor said after she did forgive anyone who tortured her in the Camp that “Anger is a seed for war. Forgiveness is a seed for peace.”

The carrot story made me think of an interaction I had. I was bullied most of my school years different bullies throughout the years and I only actually remember a few of them and the times i was bullied. When I was in older elementary school I was playing a game with a few different people one of them asked if we could talk I was confused but agreed to. He then apologized for bullying and teasing me when we were younger and that he had wanted to apologize for a while. I told him I forgave him and appreciated the apology I also told him I didn’t have any memories of him being a bully. He seemed so relieved to know that he never caused any long term damage to me. To this day I have no memory of him being a bully but I will always remember him apologizing to me.

For the lice problem she definitely needs to take care of it because she is going to end up spreading it back to the kids and around the school and it will never end also it will become an infestation in her head and she won't be able to deal with it the itching will drive her crazy also once they are infested it will be visible and people will be able to see them jumping around and you won't be able to hide it the best thing she can do is put a bunch of gel and hairspray and different products in her hair and don't wash her hair until they all die because lice only can live in clean hair and all the hair products will suffocate and kill the lice

When I was younger this kid decided to claim that the road belonged to her, because it was near her house. She then proceeded to try to run over my bare feet with her scooter. It turned into a full blown argument with her little cousin yelling at her.

I used to live on the solo property at the end of a private road that had a fire access road coming off of it connecting a public mountain bike trail. People often tried to tell me the road was a public one. Nope. And it earned the ones who tried to argue a ride back up a 45° .4 mile driveway. So lacking momentum your walking your bike. Where a simple "my bad" got you a one time pass and a polite warning to please use the trail head down the flat road 1 mile on flat ground. Some people were just lost and quick to apologize. Amazing how many people are sure they know legal property boundaries when they clearly don't have a clue.

For story 2: the girlfriend just needs to fill a shower cap with mayonnaise and wear it overnight, making sure all her hair is inside. That will kill all the lice, and there's little to no combing involved. Oh, she'll need a shower in the morning, for sure, but the lice will be dead and gone.

Carrot story. Yeah what he did may have been inappropriate and seemed weird, but childhood trauma is still trauma. And quite frankly if that's always been something that's bothered him since the day it happened, it's a valid thing to be concerned about and shouldn't be any less than someone else's. Honestly I'm not even actually going to call him a jerk because aside from a bit of awkwardness nothing else bad happened

There is a way she can get rid of lice by dying her hair because I had it, and my aunt died my hair for me.and if you don't want to do that way, you can use coconut oil first play of mine gave, let him melt local down and put it in her hair, but you have to make sure each single hair into a trash bag are one of those shower caps, the lights will slide out and will Land into the shower cap or the trash back

Story 1: OP isn't a jerk, nor were they disrespectful. The stupid Karen, on the other hand, was both. These stupid people don't even own their own thoughts, much less a road. I hate people like that. Story 2: Your gf is pretty lazy, and probably shouldn't be around kids that way. Here's some advice on lice. 1, Wash ALL of your laundry, clothing, bedding, etc in warm/hot water twice. 2, Rince your combs in hot water. 3, After you wash your hair and clean out all the shampoo, rinse your hair with a cup of white vinegar and do it for about 7-10 days. Thats the best way to get rid of lice. Story 3: I'm one who knows how to hold a grudge, particularly against bad people, but in this case, it's best to just ignore those kind of things when you are adults, and don't go to events like that..... it's really just not worth it. Story 4: 8 hours is still better then 0 hours.... but the bf really needs to shape up a bit, ADHD or not. He doesn't seem to be a leech or mooch, unlike some others we've heard about here, but he's certainly going down a road like that, especially if the relationship goes further. Maybe its time for a good heart-to-heart talk with him, as that could work with him. He had worked a fair bit before, so maybe just needs a boost. Here's hoping. Story 5: Here's a good reason why you shouldn't drink yourself stupid. A couple drinks is fine, but getting drunk like that and the subsequent events that happened, is just ridiculous and i can't understand why people do it.

@carterjames8829

I don't blame the OP in that story TBH. Minor incidents can have long-term effects. I have been bullied before once by many people, and that's what can set someone off is because they're not used to it being that one person. If it's the same bully doing it over and over again, you can (but not guaranteed) get used to it and the bully could tire out. And if it's multiple incidents, they could overlap and bring each other down. I feel like because it was just this one incident, this is why the OP is so annoyed and self-conscious about it.

It's unreasonable that she expects you to live with lice to cuz basically she keeps giving you and you have to keep finding the issue and like someone else says they get in your bed in your clothes or sheets your furniture but they do have Permethrin spray to treat your bed in your couch and whatever but you should wash all pillows blanket sheets comforters tie up any stuffed animals that she may have in the house and all that kind of stuff it's a concerted effort and I know people whose children have got it and got it and got it and got it but eventually you get rid of them if you keep trying but giving up does absolutely nothing and I couldn't keep living with them

I just wanted to tell this story, but i dont have reddit, and im not gonna get reddit just for this So this happend when i was 11, in fifth grade, there were a bunch of new students, and one of them was hanna (f12). We were talking about were we went on vacation in class, and i talked about romania (i always go to romania, because there are a lot of my family members and cute animals) and then hannah said "romania is not even a beutiful place, its just street dogs and poor people" and there was one time were i was playing my dodo floot for a short joke, and she said "OH MY FUCKING GOD SHUT UP", there was also a time where she said "aww you two are such a cute couple" when i was talking with a girl from an other class, or the time she just punched me because, well idk why. But one day i got revenge, she was standing infront of my cabinet, so i pushed her with my HAND in her stomach, so that she would get out of my way, bevause i wanst gonna ask my bully "hey can you please move" nah im not like that, but then she told the teacher what i did, but she twisted the story, she said i pushed her in the lungs with my elbow and she cant breath, wich is a lie, she pretend cried, there wasnt even a single tear, she just breathed like someone who cried, but i told my favourite teacher, who was very peaceful and nice to me, so hannah and i needed to write the school rules(:

I can understand the frustration with the lice. But that's no excuse to stop trying to treat it. Lice are parasites. They are unhygienic and disgusting. You can give them to other people and burden them with the same frustration. Keep your hair tied up at work. It's not that hard. When I was in 8th grade, I got head lice really bad. They became immune to the treatment we were using (which could be part of her issue) so we had to find something else. I had head lice for almost half a year. I was so upset that I broke down crying and begging my mom to just shave off my hair. Thankfully, we didn't have to do that but man I was so tired of dealing with them. But y'know what? I kept my hair tied up, and I fought and fought and fought until I finally got rid of them and have not had them since. Tell me how a 14 year old had better resolve than a grown woman.

Lice can get into these surfaces but won't live very long without a specific temperature. However just run a thorough cleanse. Also I have hair a similar texture if not the same as the girlfriend with lice. Mayonnaise overnight will smother almost all of them. What few do survive will be taken out by the shower.

Have to spray furniture and mattresses and curtains, wash all sheets, blankets, in hot water, and hot dryer. In summer, put mattresses in sun for the day to air out. Iron mattresses and steam clean all carpets. I had 8 kids to deal with after lice were picked up at school.

When my brother and I had lice, our mother would took our bedding, all of the plushies in our beds and our used clothes and put them in a plastic sack. Then she would start combing our hair until nothing came outr anymore and then wash our hair with that disgusting shampoo (we also had to let it sit for a while, for the shampoo to work properly). The sack with the clothes and the other things would go in the basement and would remain their for a few weeks, lust to make sure the lice suffocated in their (or died of hunger). Then she would wash all the stuff that was in the back at the highest temperature possible without destroying the items. The combing and washing would continue, washing at least twice a day, combing more. With this method, we would get rid of the lice in a few weeks time.

The boyfriend who has ADHD, needs to separate himself from his family if they don't believe in medication. Especially if he's an adult, because ADHD doesn't magically go away, and his mood might be connected to it. I bet you 100% the parents have told him crap like, "You're just lazy." And, "You don't try hard enough. You don't need medicine, just work harder!" His girlfriend should have a genuine talk with him to see a doctor together about his ADHD, get him some medicine, and help him organize some things out in his life. Him at 24, his parents cannot tell him he can't medicate.

I completely agree! My son (now 31) was diagnosed in the first grade. He took himself off his meds in high school and did great. There’s no reason why someone with ADHD can’t live a productive life. I’m wondering why he can’t drive?

All right, don’t care how much hate I get for this but as a person with ADHD story number four makes a lot of sense. It is ridiculously hard for anyone with ADHD off of medication to do anything productive. We have such a hard time not only staying on task, but doing things that don’t deliver a huge rush of dopamine or some kind of like acid thing our brain produces. That’s why he spends all his time on games is because his brain can’t produce dopamine and it’s not producing that acid from fast work so it’s impossible for him to do anything else except some thing that gives him dopamine. Although I can’t explain why he doesn’t know how to drive.

Damn how handsome does that guy have to be for her to love him even though he's a worthless bum. also isn't this like that cliche story in movies where the husband peaked in highschool and never worked after leaving, probably sitting at home with a bear in hand and a wife beater on.
