Whether repetition allowed or not that doesn't matters in making words distnict In both case all the generated words will be distinct only Ex.we have a,b,c and we want to make 2 latter words so even with repetition 3*3 =9 words possible and check it all will be distinct aa,bb,cc,ab,ac,ba,BC,ca,cb So,why in first que you took nPr instead Of n^r?

Hi yachana.... No need to feel any kind of pressure..... Just try to recover fast.... If you take tension then you won't be able to recover properly.... So be calm and have positive mind set..... it will help you a lot in recovery process.... you have enough time for GATE and you can easily cope up provided you recover fast from covid..... Take proper diet and medicines.... Best of luck.....

sir i have doubt on 30:15 why i don't write 8C2*2!*3C2*2! after arrangement of x and y we have choice to arrange A or B in 3 places so why we can't write 3C2 instead of 3

I think you are confused. Understand it this way. 1).4 chairs are available 2). No. Of ways to arrange always occuring person A and B on this 4 available chairs = 4C2 (selecting 2 chairs among 4) * 2 (A and B ka aapas mei arrangement) 3). Now, no. Of ways to fill remaining two seats out of 4 (since 2 already occupied by A and B) = 8C2(Selecting 2 from remaining 8 persons) * 2(unn dono ka aapas mei arrangement) 4). Since these two task are to be performed all together to complete whole task, therefore by fundamental principle of multiplication, Total no. Of ways = (8C2 * 2) * (4C2 * 2) = (8C2 * 4!)

Sir FOR A & B always get selected my approach was , 8c2 *2!*3c2*2! Because, we have to select 2 out of 8 and then i can arrange them in 2! Ways and then i will have 3 place to put A, B therefore 3c2 and i can arrange AB in 2! Ways. But my answer is wrong and i am not able to know where i am doing mistake please help me.

You have separately arranged AB and other two... due to which the arrangement between them hasn't been considered . you can easily understand this as there are two packets ...one consist of AB and another CD . Now you have to find out arrangement between two of them resulting in no. of ways as 2!.so just multiply your answer by 2!
