Here in Southern California, we are seeing lots of 9mm with a smattering of other calibers, but .38 special, .357 Magnum (all revolver cartridges, actually), .45 ACP, and numerous rifle calibers except .223 are still VERY hard to come by. I scored some small pistol primers a couple of weeks ago and some large pistol primers yesterday, but they were $129.90 for a box of a thousand primers, about triple what I paid before the pandemic. I was just giddy to find them, and I did so by finding out when they get new shipments of inventory and being first in line at the store when they open that day. I also am seeing different powders for reloading from time to time, nothing plentiful and never my favorites, but I found powders that will suffice. Again, prices are MUCH higher than previous, but hey, they had some. Hope this continues to improve. Thanks for the updates!

Glad you are seeing some better pricing in your area. Maybe it will trickle south. Rumor has it new orders starting next week are set to increase in price on a major brand that has most of the market share. If true it will be a domino affect. Our only hope is that inventory stacks up at retail level to cause sales like you just witnessed at Scheels. Ammo prices have increased slowly again in my area. We are just now at a spot in my area (southeast) where big box stores and local gun stores are the same price on 9mm. Which is about 18-20 bucks for 50 brass case. 223/5.56 is stacked up everywhere currently and you would think that they couldn’t raise prices on it because it is setting at its current price. With that said I have a feeling there will be plenty government contracts with current events to keep the main players, and the ones that set prices(Vista and Olin) , busy for 2022 on common NATO calibers. I hope prices do come down. I have been very optimistic that they would. My attitude about it is changing though when the I see the reality how everything else has increased. Our only hope for ammo prices to drop is the only thing that has made it drop in the past, which is demand falls below supply output and it starts to stack up. Which you experienced at Scheels. It is possible. Lots of independent companies have entered the scene. Most small independent companies where drove out in 2017-2019 because ammo prices dropped to historic lows . These independent companies should be able to stay afloat for awhile being prices are so inflated now. Their is plenty room and time for margin. I’ll be glad when the new primer company gets rolling as well. We need help on the reloading side in a major way. Would love to see more powder imported. Here is to hoping! 🤞

Then it just slowly dropped just about back to normal a little over a year later. The oil companies made record profits and we paid for it. Its just another excuse. Are the retailers holding back stock to maintain price considering the ridiculous inflation these days? I would bank on it. If I buy and sell gold, if I buy it at $1000 and ounce and the price is increasing, do I sell all my stock at what seems to be a great price? Or do I hold most back on the premise the price will keep going up if everyone else is doing the same? It has a lot to do with our new concept of democratic socialist ideology. The less competition, the better. How about what the JHP prices are doing? My local store didn't even have any 556 when I went in there this past weekend. And after I gave them a lion's share of my income to buy a used revolver, they didn't even have any ammo for it. When are we going to start teaching basic business to our young again instead of what gender they feel they relate to at the time? If we are unable to make things for ourselves, we deserve to pay for it. If we feel we don't deserve to pay for it and are unwilling to make it, we deserve nothing. Flaunting stock in stores like these just tend to piss people off that have much less availability. It is the American way. Try going to a smaller town and see what they have. And make sure it is a three hour drive minimum.

Back before walmart went woke stupid they were selling 9mm 100 rd box for $16.97. Price now for 50 rd is $16.99- double the cost. And that's about the cheapest I've seen for brass-cased ($.33 - $.34/rd). I would say buy it now because it probably will increase in price.
@22addict402 жыл бұрын
Actually WWB was $26.67/100 rds and ZQI was $12.97, I still have pictures of prices right before Walmart cleared out most ammo, now I was getting Aguila and Fiocchi for $8.99-$10.99 per 50 rds at Atwoods right before the plandemic🙏🏻🇺🇸🤙🏻I would post the pictures if someone tells me how to post a picture on KZbin???

@@22addict40 Wally was selling Federal 9mm for $16.97/100. I still have the receipts in my ammo stash. During their woke clearance Win white box was $9.00/100. I bought close to 2K rds at that price.

@@rencleavus5213 how do you put a still shot on here and I’ll prove it, and yes during the clearance of ammo I was getting 100rds of 9mm for $5 bucks, matter of fact I was getting all calibers for $5 except 22lr and it was dirt cheap 🙏🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸I have receipts to and pictures!

Not seeing any price drops in my area, and nothing near the quantity you have down there. If I see something like 30-30, it is a few boxes. Saw 1 box of Federal 45 Colt and it was $64.99. Hopefully I will get a chance to check the St. Cloud Scheels soon and see if they are stocked like yours.

Dave, any limits on ammo? I can see a limit of 2 - 4 boxes per purchase. Time to slowly restock again.

Central Illinois, my store has 9mm for 18.99 a box without a limit. Up north toward Chicago it's like $25 per box with a limit. 🤷♂️

Will there ever be 410 shotshells in stores?
@justinquamme9162 жыл бұрын
Check Walmart dude. I have found many boxes of 410 for my nephew's break over in the last couple of months in all types of loads. Some of the smaller gun shops here in Texas also have had for 410 defense rounds I usually don't support Walmart but I can't find something on chamber I'm going to get it wherever I can

Check LGS or gun and pawn shops. My shop here in NW AL has had 410 for months. Many brands and loads. Defensive and hunting. It must be regional or even by area of state bc most stores have it and virtually all other calibers from rifle shotgun or pistol. My shop has always been a good source for oddball or wildcat stuff too tho. Big box hit and miss on 410 and some others but don't discount hole in the walls or lgs's.

I want more. Luckily I have a decent amount but I use it for bird hunting here in Alaska and I love having a good stock of 410. I also like to have 12 gauge short shells for my ksg.
