A wood supplier gave me a chunk of smoked oak last week. 5 cm thick, thoroughly darkened all throughout the wood. Its the darkest wood I've seen so far, it's almost black. After seeing your vid and how long it took you (7 weeks of exposure) to get a darkening not even remotely close to this chunk (but quite spectacular nevertheless) I wonder how much a slab of smoked oak would cost. This must be a very pricey product... Oh... And it smells aweful when cut :D

How strong is the smell when the bucket is closed? My workshop is in a Basment and i am not sure if i should try it

Unless your basement is very well insulated, I would avoid trying this there. Set it up outside on the porch or in the backyard instead. I would also recommend wearing a respirator to avoid inhaling the fumes.

Je doute sincèrement du pot plastique contenant l'ammoniac...Le plastique fond à son contact...un pot en verre est bien plus adapté pour contenir l'ammoniac qui va s'évaporer petit à petit...Le seau risque également d'être déformé. ATTENTION À VOS NEURONES,AVEC LES VAOEURS DÉGAGÉES. Antony.
