I’ve had my experiences with the police, some I deserved (speeding, DUI, car accident) some I didn’t (Walking in a nice neighborhood, being searched outside a store on Black Friday (the irony) and just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I’m not knocking how anyone feels no matter what side they stand on the issue. I do think however, people should realize we are not all the same. We have not all had the same experiences with the police or in life and general and because of that we should not dismiss another persons feelings or life experiences. I’m not trying to start a race debate or anything but as someone who has experienced racism from coworkers, friends and yes the police, I’m not going to pretend it doesn’t exist to satisfy anyone’s desire to sweep it under the rug.
