that is the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard a record store employee say. we are literally in the middle of a vinyl boom where artists like Taylor Swift, Adele, and Olivia Rodrigo have broken vinyl sale records. And, vinyl record sales have been the highest they’ve ever been in the last 3-4 decades.

@@user-ux1vj9vx7s Some people like to own a physical copy of an album that they can enjoy in their homes, whilst having the artwork to look at etc. Also, recording something digitally and then pressing it to vinyl is by no means a waste of money. I think it's nice, it means getting out of the playlist generation and giving people something tangible that they can listen to as the artist intended. I'm mixing something in the box right now, some of which was recorded digitally, some of which was recorded in the analogue domain... The masters are being pressed to vinyl and I guarantee you wouldn't be able to pick out which parts were recorded ITB vs analogue.

@@davidellis5141 If you found my comment unpleasant then it doesn't take a lot. I just asked a question, since a lot of the comments in these Amoeba videos have unfortunately been quite judgemental in judging the people showing of some of their musical taste. Especially in the past. Your comment didn't read as anything different to me. If me questioning that because I read your original comment another way than what you maybe intended, which I still don't buy btw, because your comment seems to have to have some frail unpleasant snark to it about FINNEAS musical taste, and immediately makes you jumps to words such as unpleasant, disdain (for a person you've never met) and trolling says to me that you might be a very quick to jump to conclusions about other people you have never met. And further more your reaction just tells me that you didn't like that I confronted your shitty hollow snarky comment and now you try to save it all with the final "I respect that" part. Don't buy it.

I appreciate Finneas so much but I have to disagree on his opinion on going to record stores and not purchasing records you are already familiar with. There’s classic records that I’ve bought where I’m always learning something new no matter how many times I may have already listened to that record. Just because the average person doesn’t produce music doesn’t mean they’re not paying attention to the music they’re listening to. My point is you don’t need to simply buy records you aren’t familiar with. The music you already know can constantly teach you something new in ADDITION to constantly exploring new music.
