@@Jomacx-24 There have definitely been some very loud complaints about the remix, but they are from a fairly small minority of Replacements fans. @rdrrr6 ай бұрын
@@cherokeeflan Yeah, I've heard that sentiment a lot and I agree. The additional piano on "Regular" is subtraction by addition and Tommy Ramone's thin, reverb-y mix actually helps "Regular" out - it gives it a haunted feel. Everything else is better and it's not even close. Even the throwaways (Thunder, Clown) are great now. Not saying they're suddenly _good songs_ - it still mystifies me that Westerberg had Nowhere Is My Home in his back pocket and decided that Lay It Down Clown needed to be on the album - but the mix gives them enough punch to get over on attitude alone.

He came out the first half and just played his acoustic guitar, then after a short intermission, he came out with his band, The Shocking Pinks, all dressed in 50s matching shocking pink outfits. Love "What's in My Bag," loved this one, very wry, informative, and entertaining...but...in fairness to Mark Knopfler "Lady Writer" isn't him ragging on some "lady" interviewer. It's about the character in the song seeing a writer/historian (hence references to "history" and "the Virgin Mary") on television (supposedly English historian and novelist Marina Warner) who reminds him surfacely of his ex. She did happen to be a looker so I can't say it's completely devoid of any ingrained sexism, but not in the way described by Carrie. Regardless, the boy can play.
