Two sets of questions: 1. If it's difficult to get in and out of the AMOK, what do you recommend for a female who has to pee a lot at night? Is it easy to pee while lying in the hammock? Anyone tried this? 2. How do people stay warm when winter camping in the AMOK? There's no underquilt or overquilt. I'd appreciate suggestions.

Hi Dee, Sorry its taken so long to get back to you, I've been away. I'll have to defer this to Jason, but I beleve the the insulation from below is provided by the inflatable matress. And I know Jason had an extremly comfortable night below zero degrees on this camp kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4CuopuDpbpgmdE
@jason1208703 жыл бұрын
Hi Dee, well you win the question of the week!!! Question 1 = I have never had a pee in the Amok, but I think I would be comfortable in turning to one side and using a bottle. As for our lady viewers I just could not answer the question sorry. (But once you have used it a few times its very easy to get in and out, practice makes perfect) Question 2 = the mattress that is needed to give the Amok its rigidity is rated to -18 so no need for an under quilt. I have used both a top quilt at -0 and sleeping bag at -1 I do find that a top quilt is better as it is easer to get in and out with it. Its just like getting in to bed at home really. Using a sleeping bag can be a little tricky. Hope this helps if not please ask and I will be happy to answer your questions.

Nice review, but I am missing one thing...getting in and getting out of the Draumr ;-)
@owtnabowt27233 жыл бұрын
😆 Thanks for popping by and saying hello. Jason's a seasoned pro now, and hops in and out with relative ease. I climbed in for the first time just after we finished filming. It wasn't massively difficult, but it did take a while for me to adjust myself into a position where I didn't think I'd suddenly go spinning out backwards. Its definitely not as easy in and out as a standard hammock. I'll get back out with Jason and we'll do a short follow up on "ease of use" over the next week or so. Have fun and stay safe - Andy

@@owtnabowt2723 I have the Draumr 5 also, try out was yesterday, getting in and out is training and trying. But the flat lay in it is super.
@jason1208703 жыл бұрын
@@Wijkkie Hi Jack, the biggest problem I found was adjusting to the way you lay, it is very important that you find the (sweet spot) it’s all about getting the balance. Once you have found the balance your good to go. As a tip if your bum is just under the ridgeline, you won’t be far off. Hope this helps.

@carlpasha2 жыл бұрын
Very interesting, thank you. But it looks as if any tarp one might use would have to be VERY large to give proper coverage, and be difficult to set up effectively. What size tarp are you using for this, please, and how and where do you anchor it? Cheers.

Thanks for popping by and taking time to comment, glad you enjoyed the vid. Jason loves it, and it is very comfortable. To be honest, I like a hammock for dossing around in, but I get a bit queasy after too long, and I toss and turn like the Tasmanian devil at night so I am happier on the ground. I did find the bridge hammock much more stable, but had a massive fail with it this weekend (spoiler alert - its too long). Not giving up on it just yet though 😂
