The giveaway has CLOSED (see June 14 livestream for winner) *1)* Someone created an account called "Text on Telegram @LostLakes" and used our logo and was responding to people to tell them they had won. Some kind of scam. Their account has been banned on this channel but please watch out. There will be a separate draw video. *2)* FYI, these are all my own thoughts. Amok had no part in creating or reviewing the content. They ask nothing to enter the draw, no hoops to jump through...they are just generously giving away a set. If you're interested the draumr, check out Amok's channel here: kzbin.info *3) GIVEAWAY* Please read the rules in the description if you want to enter the draw. In a nutshell, all you have to do to enter is write one new comment and keep it PG (e.g. ask a question about the draumr, tell us which model/colour you would pick, etc). Any new comment will be eligible for the draw as long as it isn't offensive. I'm hoping to run the draw mid next week around June 16th unless I start a big trip before then in which case it will be after.

@@alivia4907 I reported several instances, but it's pretty much impossible to fight as an individual. YT needs to work on this. And it's sad that it's the naive or vulnerable who fall for these sort of things.

I just got the message too via Telegram. I started questioning them because it clearly states in the rules that the winner would be notified via a video on the channel they deleted the conversation. That's terrible. I realize it isn't the channel's fault.

Holy Smokes. I've been lusting for an AMOK, ever since I first noticed them on your channel! To quote Joe Robinet, who was admiring at your AMOK while he was pitching a tent on a bed of punji sticks, "I'll bet that's comfortable, eh." Truth be told: I'm 78, I'll probably use it a few times, because I'm still active. After that, I'll proudly pass it to my grandson, who is an civil engineer in Colorado. He and his wife are avid backpackers. They will use it for decades.

Been eyeing this hammock for a while now as I have low back problems and tent camping is only getting more difficult for me to do. The idea of laying flat, bug free in the trees instead of having to get down low and get back up again is really appealing. Great channel BTW, someday when I get to move back to the north I hope to get in a fraction of the paddling you get to do!

Same here man. I don't have this beast, just a normal one but it's sooo comfortable. Never had back problems again camping. Just make sure you get an under-quilt or one where you can put a pad in, or your bum will get cold.
@cybersincere

The two key things I've learned owning the Amok Draumr is 1) you definitely want their inflatable pad, not some thermarest or something else; their pad is critical to comfort in this hammock, and 2) pull the hammock lines tight and I mean tight otherwise you will get a burrito effect. But with their pad and good, tight lines this bed is glorious for chronic back pain sufferers like me!

My wife and I both bought one, honestly just on John’s experience he shared, so a bit of a risk as there were very few reviews at the time. One year in and we are dying to get back into ours! It is the most comfortable sleep either of us has ever had, including our home bed. Amazing quality, engineering, value, comfort, and all round value! Nothing else comes close! Thanks John and Erin for introducing us!

I'd go with red... kind of wish the tarps came in brighter colours. For camping, I like bright colours. As for a question --- what are the weight limits? I know they're meant for one person for sleeping, but can they handle a cosy couple for just hanging out or cuddling?

in years past, while camping and portaging with my spouse, there were nights after particularly hard days where a tent would be preferred; its nice to have a partner in the sleeping bag. I did see some tent hammocks in the past, much more rigid frame; but never tried one. If I win the thing please donate it to any young person who's into camping but cannot afford one; I definitely have been in that situation from time to time.

Living down in Australia, hammocks like these really appeal to me. I'd probably choose the blue or yellow variety, as I think they look the best, and sticks out enough for me to see it. And even though it's colder now, having something more open than a tent is really helpful in the warmer months. I'd love to take my Dad out into the Blue Mountains with another setup like this, as it would be really fun to use with him. Thanks for the great content over the years, and good luck to everyone entering!

I have been on the fence about hammock camping for a while now, but after watching so many videos on your channel, I have been thinking of switching over. The functionality of the Draumr is very appealing. I like the fact that it seems more spacious with way more area to spread out compared to a normal hammock - something that had been putting me off trying regular hammocks. I really enjoy your channel and appreciate all the effort/work you put into your videos! :)

Hi John - I do travel the areas you trip, but don’t get to experience them on the scale you do! Love that you “Rep the North” and translate it’s beauty!! I know seeing you use the Amok Draumr repeatedly on your trips that it works superior to a tent - or you wouldn’t be bringing it. It also speaks to the quality of the product & design. A great hammock tent for great Northern Ontario adventures! Stay Wild

I started using a gathered-end hammock this year, because I couldn't afford to keep buying new sleeping pads, hoping to fix my aching hips and bad sleeps in a tent. Best camping sleeps ever in the hammock. But the Draumer looks even better. I especially like the storage options right beside you, and no underquilt to mess with.

My husband and I love canoe camping in the BWCA. He has had several spinal surgeries due to disc degeneration. We currently camp in a tent but are looking to change to hammock camping. He is short, about 5’4” but his shoulders are broad so a gathered end hammock is very uncomfortable for him. I am hoping that the amok hammock will be a good solution for him. My only concern is if it is tippy. Thank you for running this contest. We are looking forward to many more years of camping in an amok hammock.

While I think it would take some getting use to as a general tent camper and have never been in a hammock of any kind ever, I can definitely say I'm jealous when I see you relaxing in your Draumr as it looks beyond comfortable for a hammock. It kind've like if a cot and a tent had a baby in a way for how much room and features you have vs a regular hammock.

As you mentioned Jon, the best feature of a hammock is ease of setup in the backcountry. I just spent a week in the French river provinical park in Ontario with my daughter. I was glad it was just the two of us because we had a hard enough time setting up two small 2-man tents on the sites (which are managed). I'd be thrilled to own a hammock for these trips.

Looks like a great product, I'm not a huge fan of sleeping on the ground. The yellow is a nice shade but I'd probably go for the green.

Thanks for the run through of this hammock. I have been considering getting this hammock after watching you use this for some time. As I get older, I seek more comfort than I get on the ground. Great videos and great channel.

I have always been a tenter, would love to be able to try the Draumr in my Northern Minnesota BWCA canoe trips. It looks like it would be the perfect fit for me. Thanks John for all the entertainment and content you give us to enjoy.

I have been wanting one of these for a while! I have so many chronic pain conditions and I think this could really help. Great overview video, Jon. Thanks.

This video might just push me over to the hammock sleeping side. Every time I watch your videos I become more intrigued. It would be really helpful if you showed in a future video what size the entire package that you use packs down to, and the weight. And a size/weight comparison between the models. And the setup process. I love the chair mode and integrated bug net. Thank you for another great and useful video.

Been following you since the backcountry angling days. My wife and I now have a dog so a gathered end hammock won’t work. Won’t want to switch to tent. So we found the Amok. Dived into research. Pleasantly surprised during my search to be reminded that you put out so much good content on this product. We’re ordering the full shebang, double hammock with pads and tarp. Donating our old set up to my college-age brother in law

Living on the Oregon coast there is no such thing as level ground. A hammock is ideal. Except I am a side/belly sleeper. This prize package would make some of the remote locals more accessible. Your videos are always top notch and I am super envious of your canoe tripping opportunities. Thanks for all you and Erin do!

Is there anything you dont like about it/ or perhaps change about the design? Great detailed description of the Amok btw :) What a brilliant design! Everytime I watch you climb into it, I can almost feel the coziness myself. After years of tenting with a bad back, I think this would be a fabulous upgrade😉 Keep up the beautiful videos John!
