John Hegg (vocalist) has PhDs in history. So he does know a lot. But also keep in mind, he is an entertainer, so there will be some wiggle room between the reality and fantasy. The Shield wall was to protect from charges and arrows. It was not a formation intended to stay in place. The show Vikings is one of the most historically inaccurate piles of garbage ever made, right along with The Last Kingdom. The entire myth of the Norse raping was a later invention. 0 contemporary sources, even those written by Christians, mention the Norse raping. Norse law gave the death penalty for rape. Raids or not. The shield maiden thing is fantasy. Did not happen. Did women know how to fight? Yes. Did they take part in warfare? No. MULTIPLE attestations of women being moved far away from the fighting. The Norse tried to integrate and get along. Multiple accounts of this. And none of it was because their gods told them to, gave them a Manifest Destiny, or put them on a mission to convert. MULTIPLE accounts of Christians mass killing and committing genocide. All in the name of God, under Church direction. Big difference. Example: Boniface. Terrorist. Cut down the Donner Oak because he was having issues converting people. Which pissed off the Saxons (relatives of the Danes, that's important) and Frisians. That's when Charlemagne got involved. And example of his actions, written by his own people, was destroying the temple of Irmansul, rounding up 4500 men/women/children/elderly, forcing them to be baptized, then executing them. THAT is what started the Viking Age. All those raids against churches and monasteries (0 documented cases of them attacking nunneries) was retribution. Stop watching TV shows to learn history. Also, Viking was a seasonal temp job. It wasn't for colonization. It is also a Scandinavian name for something EVERYONE (including Christians, who would go on raids as a right of passage) did. The Black Book of Communism has been debunked. Multiple authors have admitted it's mostly made up. Apocalyptica, like the show Vikings, it's not historically accurate.

Amon Amarth is cool I think you should do or even re-do some old stuff. Metallica, Nirvana. My favorite reaction video is you guys watching Pantera. I think you could do it again listen to that song again!

We don't really celebrate Viking culture in Nordic countries. Not that I would mind if that was the case. Besides, like the poster mentioned below, most Viking series, movies, etc are pure fiction.
