@@brapperdan Yep. Ironic to see them and Arch Enemy on the same bill. Two of the biggest European-Festival-Metal bands that I don't share the admiration for. But Amon Amarth's Jomsviking WAS a really good record from start till finish, and not another "2 good songs - 8 fillers" album - I'll give them that!

That's what many people today forget about metal. Everything's been done already. Every riff is just a variation of another. It's incredibly hard to keep releasing records and not repeating yourself too much.
@rayshualothtonne9996
@rayshualothtonne9996 5 жыл бұрын
I disagree with that statement. You're clearly not a guitarist and if you are you have a limited mindset. That's not meant as an insult, just my opinion. It takes a while to write and produce stuff if you want it to turn out well.
@gamingforfun9000
@gamingforfun9000 3 жыл бұрын
@@rayshualothtonne9996 What he is saying is that with so many bands around IT is actually harder the longer you go to come up with new riffs and one that havent been done by one of gazillion metal bands out there, also depends on genre you are doing. Last few albums had some similarities, especially production wise while before With oden on our side each was more unique and after With the oden on our side came a very refreshing Thunder of th=e twilight god which is still their most unique sounding record, after this one it was a bit more similar with Berserker sounding a bit different again.

Like maybe that's what they were going for but songs like Raven's Flight, Ironside and When Once Again We Set Our Sails sound like old timey songs pirates and soldiers sing to boost morale if you substitute Johan's growling with a bard or a band of merry men.
