***** i agree, they are very tight with their rhythm its just their soloing and some of their more intricate riff that they play poorly when live.

Even the "slow motion " versions sound completely badass 😎
@kazaakas8 жыл бұрын
4:55 Funny how they both use opposite tremolo picking techniques, with tremolo picking being such an integral part of the band. Johan anchors his hand with the pinky and the ring finger on the pickguard while Olavi acnhors his hand on the bridge and picks way lower down the string.

well 3:08 actually explains a lot. They thing they do with their hands is not the thing we hear.

Good solid not-so-technical stuff here. I love Amon Amarth. Great songwriting. Simplifying the riff for the verse is really cool. Also, playing with the kick drums is also smart. It's these simple things people tend to forget. Myself included.

@turboblueperformance710010 жыл бұрын
I always thought that I had heard that riff somewhere before and I think you are right. Hallkaft, jump to the 8:20 mark in the song shogun and you can see the resemblance. I love both bands so I could care less, its just interesting. Before I hear it from Trivium haters...Shogun came out in 2008, Surtur Rising 2011.

My tab has the chorus chords, playing on the 5th and 3rd strings, but nothing on the 4th. How do you play a chord with an open string in between. Thanks in advance for any help.
@23ero239 жыл бұрын
That's called an octave, same note just 8 pitches higher. Put your your first finger on the 5th string and your 3rd finger on the 3rd string like you normally would but lay your 2nd finger on the fourth string to mute it. Don't press any frets, just lay it on top of the string enough to choke it out.

Thanks.

@richardhetfield90298 жыл бұрын
+Thulu try to till the pick a little, so you will be playing the string in a diagonally way with the pick (kinda playing vertically), does that make sense?? But don't get too comfortable with this "technique" cause it gives you a "dirty sound" which is difficult to correct later on (personal experience)
