@@KubickQ That's true, it would eventually be picked on, but especially if it were possible in public lobbies where most of the players would report the person you shapeshift into, then unless you cross paths with the person you shapeshifted into, they could very well never end up catching you. Or you could make up a lie about where you were, or shapeshift back and forth whenever you want. The only thing that'd put a wrench in that plan is if the shapeshifter evidence was turned on, because then crew can tell someone is shapeshifting a ton.

15:16 Sheriff is an awesome role when you’re playing with friends who you know and follow your unspoken rules. It’s a different story in pubs, where someone who has no clue what they’re doing can walk up to you and self-destruct, and you get voted about because they blew themselves up by being an idiot. That’s a terrible way to lose a game. I’m sure this could be fixed with some balancing changes, but I’m glad Innersloth is being careful about adding new roles and considering as many angles as they can.

Engineer and Shapeshifter are official roles, yeah, but the rest is from a mod called Town of Us, and both Engineer and Shapeshifter (or Morphling) function a bit differently on the mod. Scientist and Guardian Angel are also official, but the former doesn't exist in ToU and the latter works completely differently.
