I love this book and Mr Towles' style of writing. His wisdom, wit, utter sophistication, spiked with gems of memorable quotes and insightful footnotes makes this one of my favourite novels.

What an outstanding interviewer. Ask a question and then…….shut up and listen. Without interruption. I am a huge fan of 'Moscow' - one of my all-time favorite books, period. And how good to hear an in depth interview with this accomplished author by an accomplished interviewer.

I enjoyed the novel even more after this interview. I didn’t focus on the accordion-like time sequence. I realized the removal of labels of the wine was a sign of Soviet excess but the interview described this excess in richer detail. It is apparent that both men are very well read , perceptive and articulate.

I missed my chance to see Amor Towles on his Lincoln Highway tour (I had no idea how popular he was and that tickets would sell out immediately!) but this interview was a wonderful substitute. Thank you, Russ. Gentleman is also one of my top favorites. Bonus: I bought 4 new books while listening.

I was so looking forward to this interview and it didn't disappoint. Thank you! Would put Mr. Towles' work up there with Cormack McCarthy. Next up is Lincoln Highway.

Curious, I want to know who is overlapping ATs type of writing today. Who else is now contributing this hommage to transcendentalism or the American literary Renaissance he refers to ( Emerson , Thoreau, Whitman) in this type of brilliant and sophisticated writing?
