You are so true, i am a fan of sporting and i love the fact that you dont blame Amorim for the bad results. He needs high IQ players but mostly players that want to follow rules from the manager. Best video i've seen speaking of Man U so far.👌🏼

The performances are not Amorim's fault, and I love what he's doing so far for the most part, but he has also made some obvious mistakes, particularly in the Bournemouth game. But hey, we'll put that down to him still learning the team for now.
@mkmp71542 күн бұрын
If his team is stupid and not as technically good, then it is his fault for setting them up to play a way they cannot. He's an idiot. He should do low block and defend like Bolton with one ball over the top 😂😂
@John_Kennedy27Күн бұрын
@mkmp7154 and how exactly would that help the team develop? Is that not basically what we've been doing for fucking years? Pretty sure the point is this season is a write off anyway, he wants to see who can and cannot play his system so he can get rid of the useless players and get the ones he needs. "Play a low block" fuck off 😂

Biggest issue i have with the team is the fact that they don't move off the ball. They just stand flat while being marked out- and this has lasted since the time of Ole!!!
@SemeexFootball2 күн бұрын
For sure and at least now with this manager we should be 100% sure he’s training them to run and im sure ETH was too, so im not sure what the problem is. It seems they just want a thru ball in transition or a one on one situation for one of the wingers like Rashford or Garna, or Amad so they forgot how to or just never knew how to create chances together by moving the ball around and making runs. Thanks for watching.

It’s so annoying to watch players not do the simple things. You have to make the runs even if you don’t think you’re going to get the ball because it open up space and moves opposing players around. Anyway thanks for watching
@chikku8072 күн бұрын
Honestly your analysis is very insightful and refreshing. I admit i am one of those who doesn't really believe in Bruno because of his erratic nature, i was like that from a long ago however not just this season. But in your video you backed up your point with examples from the game which makes it much simpler to understand. And for sure the mentality/confidence issue seems to be a big thing at this club especially in the last decade. I think a lot of players fall to the pressure to succeed here which tbh i really think is second to none bar Real but they've been fortunate to not completely fall off recently. So it makes sense that a lot of players show that lack of confidence in the pitch and look confused. Another thing i really liked in this video is the comparison with Sporting to see what we're trying to achieve. I feel like that was a topic of conversation as amorim was coming in but nowadays most fans are too self centered and just look at the surface level and blame the wrong person(s). Like you said we should always keep in mind Amorim's tactics and where they're trying to go because otherwise we all start to blame players and managers without fully understanding who's really at fault
@SemeexFootball2 күн бұрын
Thank you for being open minded enough to consider my point of view. Like I said in the video winning isn’t the most important thing right now. We’ve won games without doing any of the tactics correctly because Amad or someone else does something special that wasn’t really a planned pattern of play per se. Then after the win our manager says “I can see the storm coming” it’s because that’s not the kind of win he wants. I can almost guarantee he would happier if we draw instead of win but make 90% of the runs required in the patterns he wants because right now we aren’t even doing 50% of what he’s looking for. Hey thank you so much for watching and commenting. Please share the video if you have friends who might like it.

@SemeexFootball oh yeah forgot to mention Amad before but he's one of my favorites as well like Mainoo for example, both are fan favorites, so the Amad example was interesting as well because I got carried away with the Amad hype too so I'm gonna look out for those moments in the next games. Absolutely agree about players coming up with brilliant contributions without truly helping the team, i mean hey that's basically Rashford's career here. Would be a shame if likes of Amad and Mainoo become like that too in front of our eyes. They gotta improve their understanding of the game as well as technical/physical aspects.

It's not just the back passes that frustrate me. It's the lack of any kind of attacking instincts. They just have no idea what to do, that's why they make terrible decisions in attacking phases. Look at Garnacho for example. He's young, I understand. However, he just seems to lack any kind of footballing IQ to play for a club like Man United. He fluffs passes or basically refuses to make obvious ones, and has no idea when to pass, dribble or shoot.

You’re spot on..! Here’s my take.. United has forgotten how to play forward passes.. when OGS was the manager, Cavani was a target man. The other players do not consider Hojlund as a target man. Except for Amad Diallo.. Secondly decision making in the final third, which is the most frustrating with this United team. Thirdly, There needs to be an anchor mid fielder to receive the passes and distribute. Finally as you mentioned this team does not have tactical intelligence. Everyone thinks about individual performance and not the team. Transfer wise A striker Osimhen or Gyokeres Someone like JS Park.. Ederson would be the best bet. Theo Hernandez or Alvarez both would be excellent options
@SemeexFootballКүн бұрын
I agree on just about everything you said. We definitely need a mid fielder to distribute like a maestro. We were all hoping Kobbie can progress the ball with a dribble and then distribute but it doesn't happen enough. he's also young. Ederson would be great but I think we still need another one too. specially because Amorim rotates his squad a lot. also as you said the players need to learn passing patterns so they share the ball and stop trying to be the hero in the final third.

That's the best analysis I've seen about the guy during his time at United. It pisses me off so much when people act like he's our worst player or is a liability. There's a reason EVERY coach he's played under plays him in every single game. He's our best and most intelligent player going forward. It's the players around him that are the shit ones. Bruno is like a robot. He perfectly executes the instructions from the managers to the tee. He is wasteful at times. Don't get me wrong. But we all know why he gets so frustrated and tries to do everything by himself. Great video, love it.

Thanks heaps for explaining Ruben’s tactics with examples, good and bad. It’s pretty much as I thought, although I’d love to see diagonals and decoys in build-up as much as the final third. Maybe I’m asking too much, but hell, on current salaries, players should be seeing those runs as they sleep, and throwing up as they leave the pitch! Still hopeful re Alphonso, and yeah, I agree that an effective striker requires better wingers. So the priority has to be there, and I’m confident that management will get it right whoever comes in. That said, I get the Gyokeres knowing Ruben’s style argument, but on the other hand, if Ruben made Gyokeres, what could he do with Osimhen? Oh yeah, I’d love to see that! Either would be awesome. Re Marcus, I’m not convinced that his statement is such a stir-up given that United had already indicated they’ll be open to offers. It just seems to be a mutual understanding surrounded by standard spin from both sides and over-dramatisation by the media. So I don’t think it would influence his value, although I do expect a cut-price deal regardless, and so should United. Bottom line - neither camp is happy - he needs to go - everyone knows it. Anyway, thanks for being so much more professional and stimulating than the other dreary fan channels. Hoping next year brings the rewards you deserve.

Thank you for all your support and always watching and commenting. I hope you’re right about Alphonso he would be my top choice. As for what Rubin can do with Osimhen, I agree it could be great but the issue is Ruben has so much to do with so many players that if Gyokeres came instead Ruben can focus on the other players and Gyokeres can actually help the others adapt. He could be a leader on the forward line also teaching players. But either way we would be better with any of them two. Marcus idk about 🤷🏻 it just all seems a mess.
@nickolasradovanovic2 күн бұрын

Brilliant analysis… wish you did more videos. I like your Rashford theory. As for the diagonal runs, I too tortured myself with a rewatch, I would say they are fearful to attack the empty space, as you call it diagonal runs, but the problem is if they loose the ball they are screwed. It is a mentality thing. They fear loosing the ball .. that is also why their press sucks. But all in all I didńt think the last game was all bad. Just they MUST get into scoring goals.. cause you won’t always get som many chances… the attack needs the confidence from the defense

thank you for watching and yeah rewatching the game feels like torture sometimes but because I already know the score the second time I watch the game I can really see the game clearly and see where we missed opportunities. This was a great video. I haven't watched enough of Sporting to know about the diagonal runs, but I sure as hell know we don't do them. About the Malacia situations though, I felt like the passing angle was cut out by the Bournemouth player. At least I'm one of the cases. Malacia also probably doesn't have confidence in his game yet after his long injury. But I see your points. Bruno works better with Dalot, Ericsson, Cassemiro. Players with football intelligence.
@SemeexFootballКүн бұрын
the thing with the Malacia example is that he didn't even consider the pass. his first touch was away and inside. his first touch could've sent the ball into the space in front of Bruno, which is what Sporting do because they know their teammate's going there. Also if the pass doesn't work you would turn the ball over up field and very close to the sideline which makes it a lot less likely to be countered on by the opposing team. Diagonal runs by the way from the inside out is also a staple of how Ralf Ragnick teams attack in the final third. pretty funny we were bad at them during his time too.

For bruno, it's all about him. We clearly saw him blaming Martinez for his mistake at the back. He may have good decisions but that's 30-40% of his decision making. 50% of the time his decisions are amateur and often leads to us conceding goals

I agree we need to bring in a better playmaker but all I was trying to say is that Bruno started the game correctly and did all the right things. About 20 mins in he turned into the bad Bruno and I think some of that is because his teammates were not doing the right things. I watched Wayne Rooney's team. They are making cross after cross after cross. We don't see that even from Dalo. I remember how it was easy for Chicharito to back in the day to make tap in goals because of how the likes of Evra send crosses in the box constantly.

Bruno taking speculative shots from 40 yards and trying to force the play is a way of him being selfish because to me it looks like he's trying to take control of the game so that he can take credit if we win. That hero ball mentality needs to die because as the captain he always needs to think of the team first. If Malacia isn't sticking to the game plan or any other player, it's HIS job as captain to be the enforcer for the manager and remind everyone what the game plan is. You can't just absolve him of blame by saying he bleeds for the badge because I expect the captain of MUFC to be WAY more composed than that.
@SemeexFootball2 күн бұрын
True he’s not a captain. I dont think he’s an enforcer, someone who can get the team to play the right way like Roy Keane was. IDK how to solve the Bruno problem. I dont think hes selfish but i do think he loses patience with teammates not following the game plan and then makes stupid decisions to try and win the game. We do need a better playmaker then Bruno and that will actually make Bruno better because they will feed off each other. Weneed more recruiting thats the bottom line. Bruno taking matter into his own hands is a recurring theme in the ten hag era, unfortunately always in the worst games. The best example is the 7 - 0 liverpool he kept attacking and losing the ball and causing his teammates pressure and i really believe he had a big part on that lose 15:00

I Agree man, we need to bring in better players, at least one playmaker and a LWB who can create chances with great crosses and attacking runs so that Bruno isn't the guy who has to create every goal, or Amad doesn't need to lunge at a goalkeeper trying to block a shot into the goal, because that's not going to work in every game.

At the start of the season i was saying we have a 6-13 position team, yes we have some really good players but we lack the footballing IQ and legs to climb higher. A good team is made from the sum of it parts, the level of connection the players have, hard work and intelligence. We lack a lot and only with somemore changes will we improve. I do say this to be toxic or negative, i just think it is were we are, some players have served us well and others not so much but we need to build of ETH and both move on and forward, which means leaving some players behind.

You pointed out that Bruno lost possession 28 times. He also didn't complete almost 20 of his passes too. That's over 40 of 90 touches, that's a lot. You pointed out 1 maybe 2 mistakes for both Malacia and AMAD but somehow they're the focal point of your argument. You're defending Bruno fearlessly when he lacks positional discipline through the full 90. He needs to keep making those runs because that's what the system dictates. Him taking the game in his hands and playing outside of the system is of no benefit to the team.
@SemeexFootball2 күн бұрын
With all due respect losing possession and not completing a pass is the same thing so 28 is 28 and that’s it not 40.. also just FYI Mainoo lost the ball 20 times with less touches. Malacia was absolutely clueless and was hooked at halftime. Amad although he’s great is a part of the reason of the system breaking down. I’m sorry you think I’m standing up for Bruno which I’m not. I’m simply pointing out that the whole team is not doing the right things and he’s guilty of taking things into his own hands and then performing worse. But he didn’t make a mistake in the first 15 to 20 mins. Like it or not that’s what happened and I will be happy when we upgrade and get a better player then Bruno just like I will be happy if we upgrade any player we have. I have no agenda. But you seem to have made up your mind and it won’t matter what I say. I do appreciate your passion though cause I know it’s hard being a United fan right now. Believe me I hope better days are ahead. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@SemeexFootballyea bro, all you said about Bruno is spot on. He makes a lot of runs and we always blame him the most when he tries to take responsibilities. Mainoo frustrates me the most in this team. He has so much potential but he rarely makes these diagonal runs, or off the ball runs. Making off the ball runs is the best way to create chances in football. We watch Spurs players like Sarr, Kulusevski, Porro running of the ball and creating chances. The 2 goals we scored agaisnt City were from Amad making diagonal runs. I'm sure the whole team is being coached on this. Why then do they disregard this? The desire that our players put in is just so so poor. Sometimes I even wonder if our players sweat at all after 90 mins. They never look knackered and you always watch them and know that many do not even give up to 50% in games. It's very sad really.

As a captain though Bruno has got to stick to the plan, we lacked runners once he starts taking over and he gives the ball away horribly many that led to counters and eventual goals conceded. @trevg9450Күн бұрын
Might I offer another explanation. United ownership , the Glazers and now INEOS , have never understood the type of club they own nor the players at their club. They have spent 11 years mis matching Managers with players. Marcus Rashford has been at this club in the first team for 9 years and has 7 Manager, all with their own playing style and requirements from him and other players. Only OGS has suited Rashford skill set. When Barrata hire Amorim it just continued the same cycle. A Manager with his son playing style that does not fit the players at his disposal .Rashford, Fernandes, Garnancho, etc are not good in possession style football. They are best suited to play a more DIRECT COUNTER type football. This team don’t have technically gifted players and they certainly don’t have lots of decision makers. But yet with Ten Hag and now Amorim Rashford, Fernandes, Garnancho, Casemiro, , etc are being asked to play a more possession type game AND. In a formation that very few of them can play well. Rashford should leave because he’s not suited for Amorim’s style. United have chosen to go with a coach who has a specific style and formation. They better plan on spending money on players who have the skills to work in Amorim’s style and formation. A perfect example of a team getting a Manager who is trying to force players into what suits the Manager instead of getting a Manager who adapts to the players. Good luck
@SemeexFootballКүн бұрын
I want to continue this conversation with you because I agree with your statements but I can't tell where you stand. Here's what I mean. I am for changing our playing style into a little bit more of a possession based style as football in the last decade has changed and more successful teams have moved away from a strictly transitional style and more into a hybrid style of possession/press and transition. The problem with some of our players such as Rashy and Garna is they are not that good in the press either. They do not arc their runs to channel the ball carrier into passing in the direction we dictate. on top of that they also don't win very many of their duels or tackles. if we play both of them at the same time then we might as well not press and sit back and defend instead. and then if we do that then we are more of a Mourinho style which none of us fans want to watch every week. I really do like these players but unfortunately they have not shown me that they can change their style of play. With that said I will tell you that I was impressed by some of the runs that Garna made in the game on Sunday. he showed me new runs that he didn't used to make before and he showed me passes that I didn't see from him before so maybe there is hope for him. anyway yes I want INEOS to spend money and build a squad of players that can hold the ball and move it around looking for opportunities and players who understand how to press effectively. so what's your opinion or desire? is it to get a manager that fits this squad or rebuild into a team that can play a different way?
@trevg9450Күн бұрын
@ Ownership has shown they are not interested in getting a Manager that suits the players, largely because they either chose not to understand or are incapable of doing so . With the hiring of Amorim they clearly want the Manager to play his style which means they will need to get him his players. The discarding of Rashford perhaps signals that direction. Personally I would prefer a Manager who finds ways to get the best out of what they have. They are more flexible and last longer . Think Sir Alex and Carlo. Ancelotti won a CL with Benzama in a CF focused system , then after losing his 9 he got Bellingham and adapted the team to win another CL without a number 9. In essence he went from a 4-3-2-1 to a 4-4-2 and still won. United hire Managers that have such a contrast in style. I actually believe they should have kept Rudd as interim and then if they want Amorim spent the summer getting hi his players but instead Barrata jumped all over Amorim and now he has a unsuited group who won’t be able to play his system and certainly not his formation with any degree of success. Some players like Amad will shine, others like Rashford and Garnancho will shrivel.

The problem has been since the days of ole..during our attacks the player carrying the ball from deep always chooses to go wide at one point even if there's a free player that can the played through the middle,it wouldn't matter cause the way their brain is wired is to always go wide,that's where they believe chances and goals could come from which limits their general play and chances creation
@SemeexFootballКүн бұрын
that's interesting because you are right. We need to play down in the middle more often. we go wide all the time and our best players drift wide too often instead of starting more central and then work it out and back in if need be with a quick exchange of passes.
@sonofzeus5551Күн бұрын
@SemeexFootball exactly our best players start running to the sides immediately the ball is being played which sometimes takes the sting out of our attacks and allows the oppositions get into their defensive shape..I strongly believe it messes with our chance creation alot most times
@sonofzeus5551Күн бұрын
@SemeexFootball I also think it's a confidence issue.the players Don't like receiving the ball sandwiched between 2 or multiple opposition players cause it almost feel like they'll forfeit possession if they do and going to the sides gives them little worry about that since they have more space and time to work they're magic

Theo Hernandes is 27 and doesn't fit the INEOS profile of players they want (yound and hungry). Miguel Gutierrez fits and looks good but I never heard about him before and he didn't catch my eye in the few Girona games I've seen. As much as I like Højlund a lot he can't play all the games and Zirkzee is simply not a striker so I would love to see Omsihen in a United shirt because he's obviosly very good, only 25 and still looking hungry. Much better than Rashford as a footballer imo even though I also loved Rashford when he was young. But Rashford is mostly a quick one-trick pony with a good shot and he's been found out. I'm just not sure about Osinhem's personality. If he can't be a team player and wants to be the only star man he could be a new problem. Osinhem would also have to be OK with sharing playing time with Rasmus or I would rather have United go for another striker. Important though United get another striker soon because I want United to win the Europa League which isn't unrealistic with some reinforcements in January.

A player might make the run, only the pass never comes. As a result players stop making those runs. Hjoilund had 2 runners in better positions if he had made a pass, he chose to shoot. United forwards are trashy, selfish, out to score. There is no team effort. But the team needs 2 wingbacks, an inside forward and a forward. The current forwards can’t keep ahold of the ball, let alone pass it, the first touch is poor and play breaks down every time. Taking corners is a waste, Bruno keeps taking them, every single one can’t beat the first line of defence. Set piece defending is atrocious, Zirkzee for a burly forward loses every aerial duel, I am yet to see him win a single duel. Hjoilund has a terrible first touch, why his hold up play is nonexistent. He keeps wrestling with defenders, instead of running off them. Amorim has too much coaching to do and no time on the training pitch to drill it home. Fullbacks at wingback is a huge drawback, right now they fail to adapt game to game.
@SemeexFootball2 күн бұрын
100% agree on everything there. I was going to use the Hojlund example too but I honestly ran out of steam after working on this video for like 6+ hours. United players have not yet got the concept that diagonal and runs behind are essential to create space for that next pass. They stand in positions and wait for the pass to feet. It makes our play predictable and easy to read and counter. But Amorim working on that, there are samples in most games, and they new to his demands and new playing style, formation and system. He said a storm is coming, we in it. I love what he is doing though.
