Been listening to them from the 90's and love Tomi joutsen ❤ what a powerful voice. I watched them live a few times and it was amazing, the concert ground shook of how powerful his vocals are. Amorphis was formed in 1990 and Sabaton in 1999. so I guess that makes Amorphis Sabaton's older brother. Amorphis is also regarded as sort of a forefather of Finnish folk metal; having introduced some folk music elements and Finnish mythology in some of their songs-like E.g. that Tuonela river in the lyrics, which is the river of death in Finnish mythology. Mythology being a forefather of history, in a way. But yes, Amorphis has a great song catalogue and the current singer, Tomi Joutsen, is known for his vocal capabilities. Speaking of those folk metal bands, here are songs from couple of them, which you might like. They don't shy away from epicness either: "Ensiferum - Andromeda", "Turisas - Stand Up And Fight", "Moonsorrow - Jumalten Kaupunki" and "Korpiklaani - Lempo". On a relating note, Marco Hietala is performing in a Finnish TV show 'Vain Elämää' (Just Life) this season. The show is based on a Dutch format and in it a group of artists gather to dine on each artist's day, tell about their careers and listen versions of their songs performed by the rest of the artists. During the first day of performances, Marco performed a punk song written by Costello Hautamäki in his teens (the guy at the end of the table) about 'those metal bands'. Marco owning the song was obviously hilarious: "Marko Hietala: Raskas rock - Vain elämää s15". For reference here's the original song originally recorded in 1979: "Raskas Rock (2009 Digital Remaster)". And the 80s' Marco with their Metal stage lights and big amps and speakers, in case you haven't seen him already: "Tarot - Wings of Darkness 1986". Since leaving Nightwish, Marco has been part of E.g. in this Waltari's 3rd decade anniversary remake of their song. Waltari is kind of a ground-breaking band in Finnish music. They were E.g. performing and recording with symphonic orchestra before there was Nightwish: "Waltari feat. Marko Hietala - Below Zero 2021". A song from Waltari: "Waltari - Atmosfear".
