Most of my hardy Aroids are down for the winter now. Pot by pot they go dormant and get stored away for a few months just like this Amorphophallus konjac in the video.

Ive grown them for 20 years . I live in zone 7a . I have successfully wintered over in ground .

Amazing. Have you found any variation in the ones you have kept? I am getting quite a diverse collection now with really varied petioles and leaflet shapes.

Hi thank you for your time putting out informative videos it’s appreciated. 😁 Now for a question what is the difference between tubers and corms please? Have had several corms from my Alocasia and they look similar to your tubers, hence the confusion.

Omg you won’t believe this…. I’ve been working on a video explaining exactly that as the internet is full of false info. I just need a few more days

Looking great! Do you know Any that sells konjac in the EU not UK sellers? Ty in advance. I heard konjac should be th easiest to keep and one of the hardier species.

Thanks. Try Stijn Stappaerts via Facebook. I had a load of amorphs from him and he even managed to get the to the UK. He’s in Gent I think. They are super easy to grow and get big really quickly.

If you have a controlled environment to grow could you plant the new bulbs you pulled out right away?
@aroid_artist Жыл бұрын
You can and I’ve tested it and some times it does work but it also can cause problems throwing a tuber out of sync. EXAMPLE: I have an Amorphophallus Konjac ‘Special form or ‘nanus’ (it’s a Dwarf Konjac) and I forced it awake one September after it went down. Now, the little bugger only wakes up in Winter and it can never go outside and THAT means I can’t get it to flowering size. If you put things on heat and higher humidity you higher light you can trick anything. But you have to live with the consequences lol

Thanks for all the useful video, very specific info which is not easy to find! I have a couple questions, if you find the time: can this plant be kept completely out of soil while it blooms, like a Sauromatum venosum? And if it needs to be in soil, do you water at all, or keep it dry? And second question, do you water it in the time interval between when the flower goes down and the leaf is sent out, or do you just wait for it to start whenever ready and water it after? Thanks again for the info!

I've just got mine in the post today, is it too early still to plant it up? And I'm assuming it is kept indoors until it's warm enough to go outside?

Is this the same plant they make Konjac noodles with?

Exactly. I lived on those when I went full Keto.

Hey Zane. Totally did. Luckily it didn't hurt them too much as I have 100s now lol. Your channel is the one I followed the most when I was trying to grow my Amorphophallus collection. I wish I was in the US as I'd be round at your house most weekend lol. Since Brexit its been a nightmare to get any of the rarer outdoor Aroids over to the UK.
