"I am that guy" - that was the moment the TV version completely superimposed on my imagined version of Amos. With that one sentence and look the character was just perfect. Also the pumps, the reaction of the two women is superb. By far the best character in the TV series and a close tie with Avasarala in the books (sorry TV show, not enough swearing :P)

The screwdriver scene with the reporter! Powerful stuff and I think at that exact moment Monica realized that all the times Amos blew her off, avoided her, refused to answer her questions or tried to get them off the ship weren't him flirting or playing hard to get. At that moment she connected with the fact that their lives ultimately didn't mean anything to him and that she was probably going to die with a screwdriver buried in her neck. Wonderful acting on the part of Mr. Chatham and Ms. Hopkins, especially with a camera shoved up her nose.

90% of viewers don't recognise what an incredibly nuanced job Wes Chatham has done with this role. The clarity and level of control he shows is so consistent and his character is so incredibly well written it's a joy to watch his subtlety at play. It must be a VERY difficult character to play, but what a wonderfully rewarding role for an actor 👍

I don't think anyone here really gets why. But it's simple, although Amos can't process what is the right thing to do sometimes, he wants justice so badly. That's why because he can't trust himself to determine what's right, he will anchor himself to people that can.

Well, the writers of the books are writers of the tv show and it's their vision. So.....
@lajohnson1ly3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, disagree, if by "less effective" you mean not as lethal. There's a main subplot in the show about how he's evolving a more complex expression of morality, and "thinking more and more" is Amos developing a rudimentary conscience.
