I sure agree with the comments about Miller. And the actor Thomas Jane. He mastered The Punisher role. From then on I followed his work. The Expanse is his masterpiece role so far. I hope we see him again on The Expanse. That protomolecule stuff allows any possibility it seems. It is far from gone.

@@user-gu7yo5yn9g I don’t think he loved her in a classic sense. He constructed some kind of medieval ideal adoration for a woman he had never met because it gave his meaningless life a meaning. @@MensHominis That's exactly right. When his nihilistic bubble is popped by that brothel worker visiting his partner in medical, he flips out, because there HAS to be an angle, and nothing can be pure or innocent. Miller is in serious denial and desperately seeking meaning in his jaded existence.

@@charlesmcgehee3227 He did have a James Dean vibe! I thought he'd be a bigger movie star, but has become more of a scene-stealing character actor. He was brilliant in The Mist though in a leading role. Also he gives a haunted performance in 1922 - very Macbeth like as man devoured by guilt. Love his role as Miller obviously - reminds me so much of a Deckard like character. His "love" for Julie Mao was an absorbing journey.

When I watched the first episode and the cast came on screen, Thomas Jane was the only name I knew. The rest were total strangers - so when Miller's story ended, I was really, really saddened. However, what I really respected was the fact that Thomas Jane retained his role in the show and continued to play Miller even though his role was downgraded to a "Special Guest Star". I don't think "The Expanse" would have been the same without him.

They didn't need it anymore, and the people in control of it aren't the people who stole it in the first place. I was raised Mormon, it actually kind of tracks that they'd just let it go under the circumstances. Plus they don't really have a lot of recourse - Medina station is not under Earth jurisdiction, really they only have obligations to the Transit Authority, and even then, not really. And the Mormons would be causing a system wide war if they attempted to take it by force, if they even had the means to try.

Doesn't anybody else get bothered by the lack is realism in the anthropological/cultural details? It's taken 6 sittings to get through the first 2 episodes because I can't stop turning it off due to the painfully stupid idea that people are going to be living their interstellar life in trilby hats, worn leather jacket and whisky-drinker's stubble. None of the physics realism counts for me if we have to carry these stupid cliches forward.

All kinds of clothing/fashion styles are present in the show, and it's a show made for our time. Would you rather they all be wearing metallic jumpsuits and wacky lampshades on their heads? Maybe with blinking lights and antennas sticking out? Miller is unabashedly and intentionally the classic hardboiled detective cliche. The way he's dressed is to convey that visually to the audience. Stay hung up on maybe the dumbest criticism you could possibly latch onto if you feel like it, but it's your loss.
