What a great version...and his solo in Midnight At The Oasis is wonderful. A piece of trivia: Amos Garrett is the man who gave Danny Gatton the nickname The Humbler.

Such an amazing guitarist and magical tune. I didn't know it at the time, but I saw Maria Muldaur at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London in 1975. Guess who her guitarist was...Yep Amos Garrett. His solo on Midnight at the Oasis is also epic.

I had the privilege to be at a guitar master class with the man, in 1994 in France. We were young then and playing metal. Now 20 years later, Jeff Beck, Amos Garrett and all those real titans make sense to me. the metal years are done! Need I say more?

For those of us who spent rewinding the record back forever and never came close to nailing amos' magic, he became more iconic realizing when i purchased his cd playing sleepwalk. DARN! no tricks, b-,benders or rack mounted effects. Just Amos, and a red Tele.

I saw AG playing at a small venue in Duncan, BC, back in the 90s. The very next day I saw him again in the washroom on the Vancouver-bound ferry. I called out his name, and he seemed surprised at being recognized.

Just caught Albert Lee a couple weeks ago at The Baked Potato in North Hollywood, Ca. In between sets, he was selling CD's and a vinyl album entitled "GUITAR HEROES". On the album were tracks by Amos Garrett, Dave Wilcox, James Burton and Albert himself. Don't know why I felt it necessary to throw this in, but, there it is. :)
