First episode I've ever seen. It was funny! These actors paved the way for future sitcoms like Sanford & Son, The Jefferson's & Good Times. All were funny!!

Great episode of a great series. This show isn't 'masterpiece theater'-but- it IS a wonderful, sweet-natured comedy that is quite entertaining! All the episodes are based on common,universal situations that we've all witnessed,encountered,or likely will encounter in one form or another, eventually. If you are looking for rock-solid logic and completely believable situations you will come up short,but the comical aspects of the show more than make up for this. Outstanding tv show!

This was not racist. This was a comedy where the actors happened to be black. It could have just as easily been "I Love Lucy", but the soothing sound of these actors voices had a very calming effect on a child whose mother had to was on surgical call in the middle of the night, and the neighbor would tell her I would be fine. And she would turn on Amos and Andy and after it was over there were no monsters in the house and I was at peace to go to sleep.

My late dad tried to make a go-of-it with raising Chinchillas; as he was impressed with a wealthy land owner that raised them. One aspect my dad didn't consider that the wealthy guy did do: Keeping a cool environment with the enclosed Chinchilla pens by use of air-conditioning units; as Chinchillas, in the wild, live in the cool climes of mountains at high elevations. It's the cool environment Chinchillas live in that creates the desirable thick fur for coats. My dad tried raising them in a temperate climate, with no AC, in conventional rabbit pens in an open shed; they all perished within two years.

It saddens me when I read these comments that have included swear words. Tim Moore would not have approved. He was a decent, moral and upstanding person. He even quit a Broadway show once rather than entertain with " dirty lines". Thankfully, most commenters keep it respectful, only a few do not.

Funny episode. I've noticed: Kingfish NEVER works but is a CON MAN (ONLY TO ANDY) Sapphire works a little bit here and there but never long enough to have a nice place like I see and live in a NICE 2 bedroom apartment. HOW? SHID DEFINITELY TV AND ONLY IN THE 🇺🇸
@bloqk163 жыл бұрын
@Nikki Mack . . . How the Kingfish and Sapphire afforded to live comfortably in an apartment? Here's a plausible explanation of that: In the IRS episode of Amos n Andy; where the Kingfish was figuring out his taxes, he mentioned about the dues collected from the Mystic Knights of the Sea Lodge members, which amounted to $2K; which would be worth around $25K to $30K in todays dollars. Cost of living as it was back in the early fifties, a person could survive on that kind of income. So from what I could assume from what the Kingfish said, the money for the apartment comes from the collected dues from the lodge members. Andy's income may be from his partnership with Amos for the taxi business with the cab that Amos drives.
@nm2023 жыл бұрын
