Love the music instruments series Amos! IT really makes your content unique compared to other bushcrafting videos, I think it’ll be really awesome if you could come out with more videos experimenting how to make music instruments with things u can find in the woods, like the one u did in Maine with fowler, harvest nature to make music ❤

Back in the very early 1960's as a young teenager in elementary school, we all had 12-inch 'wooden' measuring rulers and they all had a hole at the end of these rulers that we tied a rope at the end of it and swing it like crazy! Basically we never knew what is was called, but of coarse we imitated a Bull Roar.....it was fun!

Super cool video, it's the first one of yours that I've seen. I'm really glad that you mentioned the airfoil right at the end, because I had been wondering about it! I had thought to myself that your bullroarers (as well as all of the ones in the thumbnails of the suggested videos on the sidebar, haha,) are basically wings. I couldn't see in the video, but I imagine that the roarer twists very rapidly as it swings around, and as the air passes over the wing, and that's what produces the sound. But is the airfoil necessary? I'm fascinated by the Apache tzi-ditindi in the insert at 1:26, as it's completely different! The rectangle isn't an airfoil to my mind (although you may correct me on that. I'm a highschool dropout with no education in physics or engineering) but I'm sure those chevrons carved into one of the faces have a similar effect. They must catch the air on only that one side, and the resulting drag causes it to twist. It makes me wonder what would happen if you tried other shapes, like a maple spinner, or a spoon. I'm going to do some research of my own into this, but since you're both the best maker and user of the bullroarer that I've seen so far, I'd love to have your thoughts on this!
