What I really, and I mean -really- appreciate about Thomas Blug is that he always keeps its 100% real. He doesn’t try to deceive the viewer by making false statements or talk other gear down. He is a true, honest lover of all things tone, whether it comes from his own creative, amazing inventions or elsewhere. Respect!

I believe that is the only attitude that will get me/us somewhere. If I’d start to loose a real connection to facts (knowing that I do have personal preferences) I’d loose reality. And if there’s a better product, feature or player: we should all learn from it!!! Greetings, Thomas

@ Sir, I became aware of your reinventions about 2 weeks ago. i started spending a lot of time in your KZbin and I am currently saving money to get a Mercury. That said, while I came for the amps I stayed for the exquisite , amazingplaying. Seeying you play inspired me to get back on a more serious and disciplined practising and playing routine. I am close to getting the chops I had back in my 20s back and I am pretty happy about that. Thank you for the inspiration! I bought my amp 1 iridium after watching Egue's channel, and that episode were he a-b's the pedal and the jcm800. I couldn't believe it myself until I plugged it into my 4x12 cab.....blown away. Especially the red modern channel sounds like my old mesa dual rec

Heyyy Thomas i purchased the BluGuitar about 10 months or so ago when i saw Euge's video comparing the 2 of them back-to-back and i even commented on Euges video that his comparison sold me!... Anyone watching this video i will tell you that i have owned several Marshalls (JVM, 900, 3203 Artist, DSL, SLX etc) and the Blu guitar amp absolutely hangs with all of them tonally, no hype, no nonsense or BS, a FANTASTIC piece of gear... I want to be 100% honest i dont "love" the side knobs and i wish it came in a mini head option but tonally its killer sounding ** I do think making a mini amp option size ( perhaps knobs on back) would REALLY SELL VERY WELL.... Thomas is that a possibility in the future**...?

Mr. Blug. I am so torn between getting your unit from Sweetwater. Or getting the Headfirst Alta 100 v2. Please check out Michael Nelson's demo on that amp. If you can get your amp-1 to sound that bright and cutting... My choice will be easy to make. I like to play in true stereo with 2 of the same amps, coming out of a stereo chorus pedal. So, I would assume I would need to buy 2 of your units at Sweetwater? Thank you. Jared at Tone Wars did an awesome demo of your unit!

The Headfirst sounds really good 👍 I believe that AMP1 Iridium Edition is very close in its character tones and feel. You should give it a try! Sweetwater offer money back, so you can’t go wrong…!

I bought 1 last week as well, it's really great. I just have problem to fine tune my bogner overdrive on the clean Chanel :) but I have a problem, when I try to activate the 50w mode I don't see any volume difference between 100 and 50, us it normal? Thanks for the help.

Hmm, our guess is you don't have the power amp turned up high enough to notice the difference! You only hear this when the amp is starting to get pushed. Thanks Don! We actually haven't tried the Blackstar yet, but we just checked it out online and it does look as if it would work no problem :) Maybe ask Blackstar too to be 100% certain! And if you get an answer (or buy one!) please let us know how it works out :)

I can’t believe this was shot 2yrs ago, and I never saw it. I saw Euge’s video he did at his home studio, but not this one. It’s the first time I’ve seen Thomas play rhythm-esq, riffs. This was exactly what I was looking for. Loved it! From what it sounded like towards the end of the video, Thomas, are you potentially making some changes/mods with the mercury version, to potentially get more in the “hot-rodded Marshall” territory, for the Amp X?? Or, was that just something you did at the time for this video? I’m REALLY looking forward to hearing how the Amp X sounds, if you’ve been making refinements to it over the past few years. Thank you for providing this link. I had NO idea this video existed!

i have a question about these amp 1’s. does the microtube in those ever burn out like normal tube amps? and if so, can it be replaced? or do we just have to get a whole new amp?

Good question! Of course nanotubes have a lifespan - they are normal tubes, after all, just smaller! - but this lifespan will be longer than we will be alive ;) So that's the problem solved. But we also do have a stock of them for spares and repairs if anyone does need theirs switching out :)

After having tried out Amp 1 Mercury, not becoming ideal friends with it, but liking it a lot, I have figured out that Amp 1 Iridium is for me (thank you for showing how great it sounds for classic rock/blues in an earlier video - I play a bit of everything). What is a better cabinet pairing for Amp 1 Iridium: FatCab or Nanocab? I know that they were originally created to be a good pairing for Mercury. Thank you!

Nanocab is more mid focused, Fatcab gives you more Lo end for rock…

Thomas, are you using "low gain " mode on your Mercury to get those nice tones?

I use Lo gain mode if I want more woodyness… normal (hi gain) when I want to rock…! I like both settings equally

I cant wait until the Amp X comes out so i can purchase a used Iridium as countless humans sell them to get the Amp X.. and then of course you need to come out with another new Amp Y so i can grab an Amp X.. lol.. really impressive work Thomas.. *PEEP GAME! Once you add a graphic eq, like a programmable and recallable via midi GRAPHIC EQ after the AMP-1 then that's it - you simply dial in the perfected spice to sculpt the AMP-1 the rest of the way and perfectly match any amp!*

That gets you closer, but not 100% close since EQ is not everything. AMPX will Go 100% (if you actually want that) AMP1 with additional EQ and some pedals in front gets you also very far!!!!

Next version should have wireless bt (ios) or atleast usb control access so users dont need a mini head blah blah
