THank you for this. You sold me on this just by watching the joy on your face whilst playing!!. I'm always on the lookout for a sim that really does the job and handles things like a proper Amp, I'm just now tweeking the 'Reaxis' and wow its got balls, not that horrible fizzy garbage but something I can use. Everything Mercurial does is lovely. The Triaxis reacts like an actual unit (which can be annoying if you aren't super familiar with high end gear!) and is my go to for 6 string tones; All hail 90s Dream Theater! The set up with the boost pedals, gates and the impulse responses is great too, easy to understand and play around with. Beautiful sounding delays and chorus for those big 80s tones. Maybe they arent the biggest name in modeling vsts but they are certainly my favourite. They have a bunch of free stuff on the site so have a nosey.

Great video Leon. I bought Reaxis a few years ago when it first came out and it was go-to for Mesa tones (above even my actual Mark V) until I finally joined the Fractal family last year. I haven't really touched it since then, but after this video I feel I should update it and play around.

I have the Ampbox Euphoria which is fantastic as well. One thing I don't see in the documentation is midi control, am I missing something or would this be a feature request? It would be nice to select presets, or control toggling certain effects off/on or even using the Wah in the Engl version.

As a strictly in-the-box plugin guitarist these days, this was great to see. Mercurial sounds really good. In addition to the other software suites being asked of you in the comments, I'd love to see you try out Amplitube 5. They made great improvements over previous versions...though it can sometimes take a bit of a deep dive in tweaking because you have so many things you can try (swaping mics, cabs, speakers in the cabs...it's a tweaker's delight). And some LT presets 😁

Loved the Crystalline Preset. The clean and beautiful presets are the most difficult to find in a VST.

Leon, great review on the plugin! i see that you use very high gain settings on lead presets and, still, getting no hum at all WITHOUT using the in-built noise gate pedal. i'm struggling to get the hum out of the reaxis module on high gain leads (being more specific, tweaking Sfog's presets to get a bit more closer to what he does actually use today. got the tone, but can't get rid of the hum). any particular advice on how to clean this amp's dirt?

Reaxis is my all time favourite plugin 👍 never thought i would like it as much as i do, it really feels much better than most of the stuff out there. They nailed it 👌

they are ok, I got the new amp box cracked, google up cracked mercurial for Mac torrent, still a waste of time, all these companies are copying the Kuassa Vermilion amp, especially Howard Benson and his fake 74 marshall...its all Kuassa and a huge code war taking place between companies...the silencing people about it and using cracks is to continue with the monopolies taking place thanks to corrupt law makers in congress who also cashed in on music streaming, the only artists who have locked up their careers are Johny Depp, the Roling stones and Madonna, all 1000 percent ZOMBIES....try the Kuassa Vermilion, Steve Stevens was caught admiting the Mercurial marshall and many sims are all stolen codes with different GUIs

Just out of curiosity - I've downloaded a demo of the AmpBox and the "crust" preset is on LD2 green instead of LD2 red. Is it because I'm in demo mode? I really want to buy reaxis first of all ( not all amps at once, because it's pretty expensive thing for me :/ ). How is it similiar to a Tiaxis in your opinion? I REALLY want to like a PC plugin amp modeler... I've only done really basic audio programming at this point, so I couldn't tell you the differences between an x86 CPU (PC) and a couple dedicated DSP chips (Factal, Kemper, etc.) but currently the hardware-based units simply sound better than the plugins do. Why?

Mercuriall is one of few amp sim maker who can make a nice boogie sound. I don't know why they don't release more products. Their name is outshined by Neural DSP which keeps releasing new product on regular basis. I hope they can make amp sim which is different than what already made in the market. Maybe amp sim for Marshall JVM410.

I heard the first 3 seconds and I immeadiately knew that's how it should sound! It is not worth anymore to track the real amp with cabs microphones and mic preamps. You as a heavy axe fx III user know that mercuriall are the best amp plugins. I am not gonna ask you which amps sound better in a DAW - meruciall or axe fx. ;-) Btw. I own three mercuriall amps.

Suppose (and sure hope so) the next common sense move, apart from including the rest of their amps to this Ampbox ui is to bring Standalone midi capability. Only feature keeping me off using this as a one and only solution for playing purpose ((

I had bought 2 of their Plug ins but remember maybe a year ago they sent out an email saying that they were only going to focus on EDM and DJ software. At that moment I wrote them off. With having the Axe FX3 I felt I didn't need the plug ins anymore. I will say that their plug ins are top notch but I was concerned they would no longer support them. Neural has my interest with the Soldano however. I wonder what happened to make Mercuriall change their mind.

I worked for a music store that actually decided to cut their instruments by 50 percent to focus on DJ/EDM kind of stuff and when Mercuriall said that was their focus I didn't give it much more thought. That makes me feel better, I am glad it was a joke. They are very good at what they do.

This software doesn't do the basic thing of letting you decide which of your interface's channels to use, it activates both, so your audio only goes to one side of the monitor/phone. Instead of centralizing the audio, the mono function deactivates it. Fantastic product, rating 0.
