I am a proud owner of many ML Soundlab amps, your products are just incredible. Amazing sound, low CPU usage, easy to manupulate, straight to the point. I own the "Super / Duper", "ML 800", "ML Plexi", "ML Bass" and "ML Humble". One thing I wish is that you could make an upgrade so all the UIs would be the same, for example the pedals. Anyways, that's just a thought that has nothing to do with the amazing quality of your products. Cheers!

It's very different than most noise gates. Really it's my philosophy for why you'd use a noise gate. If you use a lot of gain and saturation that gives you a noisy hiss - you can expand your dynamic range and lower that noise floor. IMHO a noise gate should not be "heard" which is how most noise gates work. You can audibly hear it close chopping the signal and open so that the first transient of your riff is not present. I've always much preferred rather not using a gate than using one of those choppy gates. The main problem people have with out gate is having that knob too high where it starts to lower your gain. It's all about finding that perfect spot for the amount of gain you're using. ☺

I 100% agree. I actually experimented a lot with the load for this amp. So different cabs that it goes through and when it went through the "Mega Djent 4x12 cab" something just clicked with the amp. The impedance just set to a very pleasant place. I knew I had to add the Mega Djent cab into the cab section.

I tried it, it's great! Even from the first (555-5555) preset, I rolled out a very good preset. I would put it among the factory ones. :P A critical comment: please upgrade the cab loader section to easier switch between 3rd party IRs. There could be an "arrow" icon on both sides for flipping back and forth and if you have already opened an IR library, you could switch with the arrow keys too on the keyboard.

And I don't mean a gate but a noise suppressor/noise reducer to stack with the noise gate already included. For now I use a freeware from Vadim taranov, but I think that it could be a cool feature to add especially because there's someone who did it for free 😉. Just a suggestion because your amps are great

Hardware - with a good partner definitely and please tell everyone to contact me about it! 😄 I absolutely swear by the stock PRS pickups and all my PRSs could be considered "old" at this point with my Custom 24 being from 2004 and that the newest one. This black one is from 1994 if I remember correctly. All the pickups in my PRSs are HFS/Vintage Bass. I also have those pickups in some other guitars that I have - that's how much I love them. 🥰

@@mlsoundlab Whenever you release physical gear I'll be looking forward to get it real hard, I have my self a Mark V and I can assure how crazy good ML5 is in terms of delivering Mark's experience in terms of both tone and playing, sounds far superior than any other Boogie digital modeling that I've tried so far. Yeah, PRSs are delightful, yours really looked like a 24 but I just wanna be sure. I love their stock pickups too, I even tried change those in the past but I couldn't stand without them for too long and got them back. 😀 Hey, you're such a nice guy and responds everybody like a good hearted real human being and not a stupid robot seller, it does huge difference to me in terms of buying stuff from someone whose both work and personality I believe in.

The revised 5150 is surely a much better more versatile amp than the original one and this ML Sound Lab Amped plugin is awesome. And so is that lovely old school CE24 you've got there by the way :). Was it an early Christmas gift? Would you consider changing the UI of some of the Amped sims for the Amps with channel switching knobs and buttons that currently don't have them? It would be awesome to have the channel buttons and mode switches on the Mega Dual like the ML5 and the CB4 have (I think those Amped sims have the best UI in terms of control layout as they actually have the same controls as the real amps) Would be nice so have channel switches on the Flagship models (The Amped Icon could benefit from something like that as well) because you actually can "perfect" perfection some more :P Cheers

This is one of the most priceless guitars in my collection. It's a really old PRS CE24 so the pickups are HFS/Vintage Bass. Thinnest neck out of all my PRS guitars for sure. Every guitar player who tries this guitar wants this guitar. It may not look like much but dangit does it play like perfection. 🥰

Good question! I'd say our best matches for the ICON plugin would be the Mega Djent, the Mars Mofo, and the Mega Oversize - though these are just my personal recommendations. -Kai

Hello my friends, I realized the value of the output knob is not saved in the presets. Therefore when normalizing the volume of my presets I have to work with the Master knob. But the Master knob changes the characteristics of the sound (distortion, saturation) or am I missing something here?

Hey Yannik, that's correct. We've normalised the output of the master knob to a degree so that it doesn't have quite the range of a normal amp's master knob, but we made the decision not to store the output level per-preset. If you did need control over the output level, you could save your presets as settings in your DAW, rather than saving them as presets within the plugin. -Kai

That's not necessarily a clipping light - it's just the "optimal gain" light. Typically you'll set this up so that the light just begins to blink when you chug hard, but some players will enjoy amps pushed harder, or not pushed as hard. There's a fair amount of range beyond the input light before you get into clipping territories. -Kai

Yeah the input volume part of amp sim plugins always kind of sucks because getting "realistic" input volume is very difficult to determine. You can't really clip the input of Amped plugins which is awesome but rather you'll just run into more gain that real life. So that green led should blink when you're picking hard which is what I do 99% of the time so.. :P

Usually we'd recommend setting it so that the light just begins to blink when you pick hard, but ultimately where you set it is up to you. Your DAW should have enough headroom for it not to audibly distort, but you should turn down the faders in your DAW and/or the output volume in Amped to compensate for the volume before exporting a project. -Kai
