High quality pieces of software. I've downloaded some of of their Ampegs myself, and would highly recommend them. Instead of buying one of those plugins that contain a variety of amps that are just ok, it makes more sense to get one that is _very_ good good at emulating 1 particular model. When you think about it, it's no different from buying a real amp. You buy 1 particular model because you like its sound.

Downloaded and checked out this software just last night, I compared it to the Ampeg software from IK Multimedia and to be honest, the Amplitube version was much better in the end, guess it all depends on your style of playing and what it is you’re after. I definitely found the Amplitube Ampeg stuff to be much more versatile which as a producer of various genes of music works much better for me. 🙏🏾🎸💪🏾

You can find identical models in helix and as far as I know helix team members were heavily involved in this plugin. Makes sense since both Line 6 and Ampeg are owned by the same parent company.

Very nice video, thank you for the amazing information. I personally find recording bass with amps sims than with real tube amps more convenient. Especially when something like this is so close to the real deal. Recording with cabinets requires veeery loud setups, and when you have a baby that will fill up the diaper just when you start playing the bass, is not the best situation I must say :))

Great video, we already sort of talked about it in the Brainworx SVT VR / Ampeg SVT suite thread on Talkbass not long ago. I think my fav preset for your mix is the "edgy" one (VR pushed into od) once you turn down the room mic and bring some tightness back in.
@Hadockhouse2 жыл бұрын

I tested A/B the SVT-VR from Plugin Alliance to this Ampeg one and with the exact same settings and same cab, the Ampeg is much more muddy and somehow noisy in comparison, it seems to go off if I change to the 210 cabs but then it looses a lot of the body, lows and clank. It looks like the Ampeg is more customizable so that might be a plus.... But I appreciate when I can use something right out of the "box". The price is high but comparing with other companies you can say it is low, but not even a release promotion...? That would have been nice

If you want more options you can run the Amp head only through the Neural DSP plugins amp sim and vice versa, it sounds great. I think I'm buying it - for $200 bux I think it's a great value (especially if they keep updating it).

Do you have really bright pickups? When I initially open the plugin it is incredibly dark on my P Bass, which seems so strange. This is in contrast to when you first open the plugin in this video, and it sounds exactly like I think it should (much brighter). I didn't know if you had active and/or bright pickups in the bass you used for this.
