Actually someone proved on the forums that the Ka-Mi in fact COULD swim even without the platoons. The platoons were only needed on the sea. In calm waters it could swim just fine. The dude even had historical documents as proof, if I recall correctly. I really hope they fix it in-game one day.

Edit: thx for all the likes and comments, and to be more specific what I like to see is ammo costs for tanks and planes being dropped by 50% (if no planes thats fine but tanks is a must) and repair costs (my ferdinand and E-100 and french tanks that I've yet to unlock.. not looking forward for it) and the most important one modules... after unlocking a 200k or 380k vehicle and then we have to play it stock to unlock 40k, 50k modules?! thats not healthy at all. For prem players its fine but I'm not a prem player, I want to spend money but I can't.

Why are you still under the impression that the Ka-Mi can't float without it's pontoons? It is more then capable of floating without them as it is water tight and so buoyant that it could actually carry two torpedos. The pontoon were only needed for stabilization in rough sea condition. In game it should easily be able to float in calm rivers we have.

@@R4V3-0N it actually could turn as navigation in water was done by the commander not the driver. While it does lose its rudder when it losses it's rear pontoon steering could also be done by independently controlling the propellers in a way that resembles how a tank turns using its tracks.

In case of the Ka-Mi, it could swim anyway. In other cases, such as the Sherman DD(Duplex Drive) or Valentine DD, swimming required putting up a screen around the tank. There was a way to drop the screen when on the ground, but the tank couldn't shot with it, and was an easy target. The screen was also 100% not bulletproof, and I can see why the devs don't want to treat some tanks as boats, measuring their buoyancy based on leaks.

BMP-1 is one of the best vehicles I ever used in high tier. It’s main Cannon has a high arc that I can shoot over hills easily and the rockets allows quick succession of fire. Saved me a lot. In addition, it doesn’t matter if it’s up or down tiered. Also helps more that I unlocked a free talisman for it where it bumped my research from usual 200-1000 RP to 1000-5000 RP. Russian Bias at its finest.

Actually M163 has the hull of M113, an APC. They need to carry their troops across the river, lake or whatever, so that's the reason why M163 can float.

Here's something for you, The Italian R3 T20 FA-HS can also swim, you will get the "crew will drown" timer, but it won't actually kill you, you'll be slow as balls, but will be able to flank all the same, you can go forward and back, but turning IS a problem in water, and getting out on slopes is almost impossible, you'll need to exit the water at an angle Otherwise the R3 T20 FA-HS is capable of doing the same thing as in this video

I honestly think that the Ka-Mi should have a modifiaction for it's pontoons (sorry if I spelt that wrong). What it will do is give the Tank it's amphibious capabilities, and act as spaced armour too, but slow it down quite a bit. I'd like to see this in the near future.

The M113 chassis was originally designed as an Armored Troop Carrier, and was used in Vietnam, which was very marshy, so it was important that it was able to move in water. It quickly because outdated as a troop carrier (being replaced by things like the Bradley and LAV-25) so it became a basis for other things, such as SPAA, TOW Support, Mortar Support, ETC. If I am correct it is still in service, but not as a troop carrier AT ALL in the US Armed Forces, but more so as mortar, command, support like repair, etc. So it's not so much so that they designed the VULCAN as an amphibious, just so happens that the chassis the gun system was slapped onto was already so! :)

Ka-mi can float without the mods. Thats straight up wromg. There is a surviving ka-mi in a museum that has been floated without the pontoons. The pontoons were only for better stability out in rough seas.

I think the SPAA thats amphibious was probably build for the US Marine Corps. Alot of their stuff needs to be amphibious so it makes sense the design team added the ability for it to traverse water ways because of beach landings and the like that the Marines do.

The M113 is the chassis. Hence why the A1 and 163 can swim. All 113s could swim. They were originally Armored Personnel Carriers (think Bradley before the Bradley) and the military being what it is kinda took the 113 and bolted all sorts of stuff to it.

I want them to some day make one big mix battle. Tanks land on the beachs launched from players playing destroyers. They fight a regular tank game but at the same time there is a naval battle going on. Aircraft have there owen regular air battle but like i said a naval and ground battle is happening at the same time. So a P-47 could take off from a carrier, shoot down a plane and then come over to bomb some tank players before finally shooting up some PT boats

What I really wanna see in the game right now is the Paladin tank destroyer, its name became paladin because of the long range capability, and as one of the documentaries that I saw said, it could shoot from the United States to Russia and hit a specific house, so yeah.... I think the reason why the Vulcan was amphibious was because it was also used to clear out forests in rivers and if so it would be a lot easier than using gunboats

I love the t114 because I camp in water where nobody would ever be cause they would drown and then just shoot unsuspecting bypassers. Also very good and spawncamping bcuz it's small and 2 bushes conceal you fully. Also u can pen everything

Completely unrelated question but do you think you’ll ever add toggle able lighting, I think it would be cool to use them on night maps or maybe not if you want to have the element of surprise. I know that there’s already smoke and cockpit lighting for planes but I feel like lighting could allow night maps to be properly dark not just like a day map but with a dark blue shader. I know this is an old video and no one is going to read this, but i'll just post it anyways. Why doesn't a crew have to be exposed to shoot the .50 cal on the M113, but the gunner has to be exposed to operate the TOW? Maybe an option for the gunner to take cover would be an great addition.

It seems to me that a short amphibious setup (10-30 seconds maybe longer if needed for balance) could be added for the add-on type vehicles, since extensive repairs take only seconds or minutes. It could even be made only available at a cap point if you really wanted to make sure it wouldn’t be overused. And if you wanted to take it farther, fording systems would be cool for non-amphibious tanks with a similar process. However that could be used for trolling unless implemented with care.
