This video is a gem-not only does it break down Amplitube’s features, but it also shows some serious tone-building knowledge! I own Neural DSP plugins and Tonex too, but crafting my own tones with Amplitube’s models is on another level of fun. With the right EQ settings and a well-thought-out pipeline, Amplitube models can sound just as good as captures. I also love using Tonex captures inside Amplitube; it’s a great combo. Neural DSP may have a polished, pre-mixed quality that people are drawn to, but Amplitube’s flexibility really lets you create something unique. Keep up the fantastic content!

I used Amplitube 5 Max and i am more than disappointed, with the quality and also how the company handles customer requests with licensing problems. Unfortunately quantity over quality is the motto here. In general there are much better and also cheaper alternatives on the market. Moreover, the fact that you always have to install the complete package wastes disk space when it's completely not necessary. The CPU load is pretty intense, about the double of other plugins with the same or even better quality. Apart from that, their licensing policy is pretty puzzling. And if problems occur the customer service, especially when dealing with problems of licenses, acts more than ignorant. So, all in all please stay away from Amplitube and other IK Multimedia products.

Hello, my friend. First of all, thank you so much for the videos you make. They brought back my love for amp simulators. Thanks for being so kind, and I wanted to leave you a couple of questions.In the first part of the video, when you're playing with a clean guitar tone,IThe clean tone at the beginning of the video sounds so crispy, so clean, and so amazing, but it doesn't sound like that to me, and I also have a PRS. How much gain are you using on your external audio interface?while you're chasing that clean and crispy sound, are you also playing with the guitar's volume? o you touch the input on the ampsimp, or the master on the amp selected? Maybe my humbuckers are too close to the strings? Im sorry so many questions my friends but you have a new follower!!!!
@Itsjorgelanzas28 күн бұрын
Thank you for your nice comment my friend! I appreciate and welcome you to my little community! As far as input level, in amplitube, I aim to have my average level at around the little ball on the input fader. I found that that’s where it sounds the best. In the PRS SE pups what I got in this video, to get the sparkle I used to keep the volume knob at around 8, also around this time, I was using the Ik axe io for preamp and kept the impedance knob at around 11 o clock to match what my ssl preamps sound like, now, I just use my ssl as a pre. lol the axe fx broke down. Anyway, I hope this helps my friend! Thank you for your comment and your subs once again!

Enjoyable video. I suggest making the amp itself do all the work and only add pedals sparingly if needed. The Boogie amp already had its internal reverb control set to “5” and adding more than that can often muddy a good tone. Most of the classic rock tones were achieved by letting the amp do the work.

I don't know why, but I cannot play in real time with VSTs. Seemed people in 2011 already did that with even 64 buffer size. I tried several audio interfaces with my Ryzen 3600 and 32GB RAM and 256 is the minimum I get without distorsion. I can reduce sampling rate to about less than 10khz to reduce buffer size to 128...but 128 is a lot of latency to me. Any clues?
@Itsjorgelanzas8 ай бұрын
Hi friend!! 1) Is this latency issue happening inside your daw, or in the standalone version of amplitube? 2) did you check to make sure you audio interface is recognized by either? Latency can come from different places. It seems to me like you have a capable computer, so it seems to me, that something might not be setup correctly. I would definitely try uninstalling and installing again if I know that I’m not doing any mistakes. But, 15yrs of doing this, most times it’s simple human error and you can figure it out with a bit if trouble shooting
@predigr8 ай бұрын
@@Itsjorgelanzas I use standalone app. I have also tried neural amp and similar results. My PC recognizes the audio interface and I have latest drivers. At 48khz you cannot reduce buffer more than 256 without breaking the signal. Sometimes, not even 256, you need 512. Either 256 or 512 are so much delay for real time playing. I will try more things but I start to doubt if people is happy playing at 512 buffer size and they say there are no issues...
@Itsjorgelanzas8 ай бұрын
Definitely there’s something wrong happening in your setup. Most of people I know run it at 64 no problem, even the video I did yesterday I did it at 32. And I have a very humble Mac mini. So I feel like computer power is not the issue. But then if you say you have the same issue with neural, I wonder if there’s something with the interface’s driver. I promise you people use Amplitube at 64, no problem
@predigr8 ай бұрын
@@Itsjorgelanzas Thnak you man for your feedback. I have tried in another computer and could play at 64 using a 9.6Khz sample rate haha. Still, 64 is a lot of latency for me. Maybe Macs work better with audio, I don't know. But 64 samples should provide the ~same latency in all setups, so I guess VSTs are not for me yet. You play and you have a natural delay titi titi titi hehe. I will investigate more but...less hope
@Itsjorgelanzas8 ай бұрын
I know man, im sorry to read that. Latency is dependent on many factors. One of em is the plugin itself, running at 64 samples. But then, the interface adds latency and can have or lack the ability to compensate. But overall, I think you have a hardware issue with the interface and the computer buses, there’s no way real 64 samples of latency would bother you. I promise you, the world of professional studios runs in more than that. 64 samples you’re looking at like 2 ms. I’m sure your latency is either coming from your interface, or the asio driver. I hope you find the solution. You have enough computer and the software runs fine. I would investigate what setting is messing up in my interface or asio driver.

@Itsjorgelanzas3 ай бұрын
Just like a dart in the dark, with the little information I’m getting, I’m gonna say, that maybe you have your interface set to “direct input monitoring” so you are not hearing the return from your computer, but a direct signal from your interface straight to your speakers. Some interfaces have a knob or a switch that would say something like “direct monitor”. I would try changing that first.
@NoStringsAttached884 ай бұрын
Wouldn’t you start with the amp in the room? Why place mics then change the amp?
@Itsjorgelanzas4 ай бұрын
Most times, in my experience in studios, the mics are usually the same, the engineers or producers usually have a combination of mics they’ve been favoring during the time, so what changes is the amps, guitars and players, but most of the recording process is the same broad picture with little variable nuances.

Very nice, I'm strongly considering Amplitube 5 Max as is currently on sale and I can't help exploring new gear. This is a great video in general, not just for Amplitube. I'm generally a preset user, but definitely want to learn how to dial in my own tones and this will help 😎

I just picked up Studio Max 4 for 265 and it seems like a good deal but I should've done more research because the fee to re-download certain sounds after 180 days is ridiculous and I don't agree with it. Companies these days act like you don't own the content you paid for, it's frustrating. I wish I would've gone with something else now.
@Itsjorgelanzas11 ай бұрын
Man,, I know how much that sucks. I’m sorry you had that bad experience. I agree with you on that sense, I’m already mad that I got to pay for Pro Tools again, after I’ve put like 10k on my rig, they still make me pay 400 a year…. Been with them for 13 years
@roofkorean694811 ай бұрын
@@Itsjorgelanzas Actually I just found out they removed the limit for downloads a couple months ago! I don't regret my purchase now. I'll give them a shot. But as for Pro Tools, that's the whole reason I don't give them my money. I refuse to go along with the subscription model on top of already being expensive. Their annual recurring fee costs more than a lot of other DAW's one time fees like Reaper for example. Most people like actually owning the content they pay for, something a lot of companies these days don't understand. I'm not a fan of paying bills 🤣
@roofkorean694811 ай бұрын
@@Itsjorgelanzas If musicians could effectively organize and boycott them in a controlled way, we MIGHT be able to get them to offer Pro Tools as a lifetime one time fee. For example, February is coming up, everybody don't forget, it's "cancel your ProTools subscription" month, where we all temporarily cancel and flood them with emails telling them to offer lifetime licenses, even if the price is steep. Let them know we want to actually own the product. Eventually they'd be like "We've listened to our customers and decided to offer lifetime licenses for 2000." That's just an example and it might seem expensive, but when you consider when the annual renewal fee is, it would pay for itself after about 5 years. They would lose some profits long term but it would be good for the overall customer experience. They could even still offer upgrades at a cost, but the fact that they don't offer ANY version you can own outright is just not consumer-friendly.

I feel you my friend 🤣🤣 they got me cause that’s my lifeline 🤣🤣, in my line of work basically you HAVE to use pro tools, so I just go with it. Thank you for sharing your experience with us friend!! 🙌🏻
@roofkorean694811 ай бұрын
@@Itsjorgelanzas That's why my friend uses it too. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing DAW. I'd use it too if the pricing were different. I'm trying out Mixcraft 10 pro right now because I like the simplicity and the value of what you get for the 150 price point, but I'm considering switching to Reaper. The price is very reasonable for how powerful it looks. I've heard of ProTools users switching to Reaper. If you can get the same results, why not save the money and put towards other things like equipment? I've heard you can customize Reaper to where (almost) everything looks and acts the same as with ProTools minus a few differences.

stumbled across this one as i struggled to get a handle on the noise spilling out of amp5 free. i dug a bit deeper and was dismayed by how few subs you picked up compared to the healthy amount of content you managed to put up. so i smashed the like, and fucked up the bell... then you said something about LA. ngl i was writing this when you were asking LA peeps to comment on lol i can't chew bubble gum and walk a straight line at the same time HA i sure can't translate my thoughts into words while stroking the keyboard and listen to what's being said on a rando youtube offering but this should pimp your channel to the algorithm and put you about 4 subs away from the new monetization milestone, no? is it 500and you're eligible? you're close bro, to catching sponsors *and* to my apartment.

1st off, when switching presets in Amplitube 5 or 5 max, the volume goes to MAX where you're going to blow your monitors even when your guitar is off ! The default settings should be -40 DB INSTEAD OF 2DB or higher ! This is an issue that I have been bringing up to IK Multimedia for 1 year and it falls on DEAF EARS ! Why don't talk about switching presets instead of switching guitars ! When the presets have pedals added to them the volume is even higher because they have the default settings maxed out !

sorry but this seems like a bit of a no brainer to me. Why would you not imitate the setup you would use in the real world based off you personal preferences?.. In my experience all factory presets generally suck. This is nothing new. Line 6 Boss, Zoom etc have always had crappy factory sounds. They just try to show off what the units can do which is usually overkill.

@@Itsjorgelanzas Amplitube is by far the best if you have the machine to run it. Not under rated. It is king. The only other amp sim that comes close for me is T-HU, & now TONEX, but that is also IK Multimedia. Other sims are also great, (like neural dsp) but ampliTube has the most variety & tone shaping abilities, & officially supported recreations. There is no such thing as using software wrong if you have the knowledge to get the sound you want. It's about passion & ability. Any tone can be shaped with eq, compression & FX, if you know what you are doing. It's knowledge & a good system with good speakers. You just show us how you use it, like we are all using it wrong because we are stupid & you are smarter. I didn't mean any offense, it's just there is no such thing as wrong when you are creative & do it with passion. It's a matter of taste, & we all have different taste. I just don't want people thinking they are not good enough to be good.
