Thank you for this video! I've been looking for a real bassist's review on Amplitube 5 - It is for sure a nice piece of software for guitars, but I was not super sure about the bass. I guess axe i/o + amplitube max makes a good pair for even actual recording! Unfortunately it seems like they increased their prices by 100 euros / dollars for the bundle! Thanks a lot for the detailed review!

I personally think that to be fair to bassists they should have a bundle available that includes everything that is useful to a bassist who doesn’t play guitar.

If you use guitar + bass software a lot I do recommend the IK ecosystem. 🙂

@joannalewis5279 depends how much you use bass. I mean, do you have any other bass software and how much use would you get out of the amps on offer here? It’s worth it for just bass to just purchase the ampeg packs for instance but the bigger purchases would contain a lot of stuff for guitar. It can be fun to experiment with on keys though. 🙂

@@JamieMallender I'm primarily a bass player but use keys for virtual instruments and learning. I use a multi effects from Boss but would like a rig in the DAW too. Du you have a specific recommendation? Thanks I'm advance 😊

@joannalewis5279 when I first started recording with software I used a boss multi fx too. I also used to try and record my live rig. After experimenting with software to get a sound instead though, I found it much better to record my bass in clean because - whilst I’m not saying the software is superior to my hardware - you can adjust it continually to suit the track. If you record clean bass your sound isn’t baked in and leaves a lot more possibilities open as you continue to develop your track. Without hearing your music I couldn’t really recommend a particular software rig but I do particularly like the tone I get from the ampeg gear in Amplitube.

The free bass amp is horrible

I wouldn’t say it’s horrible. I think you can get a really good tone out of it but it’s certainly not the best one.

I had everything working nicely that’s true. But streaming the way I was, I couldn’t do desktop stuff, I couldn’t share the iPad screen, or an Android screen, show a web browser etc.. I could only be seen if I used the camera of an old iPad as a mirror so I looked left handed and it caused me lighting issues with reflections on the iPad screen. With this new approach I’ll be able to add banners and texts, widgets, use iPad and desktop together, have multiple camera angles and even interview guests.
