I really liked this amp. For me there were 2 problems: a) it gets a bit to mushy when turned up over 50% and b) you don't really get a clean sound and even if you can dial one in it will be with a lot of master volume and almost no gain (bottom end) so it whould need another pedal (minus boost) or very good volume pot fiddling on a guitar with single coils to get an cleanish sound :/

@@LeonTodd I hope you don’t mind me asking but I’ve always ran an overdrive > distortion > fuzz chain in front of my previous amps (combo amps). I’m new to gain stacking especially into a high gain amp like the dark terror. Do you have any tips as far as volume/gain levels of the pedals and amp? I find it’s a fine line of completely destroying the tone but can’t figure out if it’s better to have high volume low gain on the pedal or high gain on the amp etc. thanks!

Leon Todd, if I get a Dark Terror and buy a speaker cab with one 10" Creamback will it sound good for Metal? I need one 10 because I don't want to carry a lot of weight.

@@glenh2752 I see. That helps. Just one more question. Will it sound pretty much what I want if I get a PPC112, meaning One 12 inch Orange speaker cab? I don't want to much weight to carry around.

Did You ever have a chance to compare it to TH30? I am torn between those two :/

@petkopeet They share the same gain stages, so they’re very similar. The TH30 is slightly thicker, doesn’t get muddy as quick, and has a LOUD clean channel. For the price, I’d recommend the DT. Not enough of a tonal difference to constitute the cost, IMO.

Could you use the fx loop to run this as a preamp into say a Marshall DSL100H head?
@LeonTodd

Yes, but you'd still need to make sure you're providing a load to the output section of this amp.
