I have a hydraulic ankle and a split toe foot. Love this because it adjusts completely, not like gears or specific spots you put a pin in. I also have Dream Skin, which looks rather real according to other people. It also will actually tan a slightly darker color in the sun. It's not as bulky as this ankle. The only problem I have with it, is the fact it doesn't have much energy saving features. But, I love this foot and my Dream Skin. Prosthetists should order you what you want, not you get what they want. I had to make sure I got what I wanted. Always ask. Never give in.

After 22 years of limb salvation surgeries, bone infections and so on I'm at a point where I have no other choice but BTK. So while I'm sitting in the hospital waiting for surgery tomorrow your videos have helped me a lot. With my creature foot I could never wear anything but a sneaker. Thanks for the videos.

Your videos are heaven sent! I am a very new amputee and I am going through the fitting process currently. I am an automotive technician and a workoholic...I am also an avid hiker spending most of my time off in the hilly rocky irregular terrain of eastern Kentucky. I sleep little and spend a vast majority of my life abusing my legs and feet. I know i will need a prosthetic that is not only comfortable but very durable....what would you suggest I request of my prosthetist to accomodate my "over-the-top" lifestyle?

1. It feels pretty normal to me. Sometimes I forget that I'm wearing it. 2. Maybe? Never tried! 3. Because I liked the look of carbon fiber ^.^

I'm going to be a BK amputee. My surgery is a little less than two months away. I can use all the help I can get, especially when it comes to the adjustable foot as I want to be able to wear my boots that have about a 2-inch heel. Any suggestions or help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

That foots neat. Ive had that prob with work boots , I'll have to check see if it would help me. I do find though most options for pros dont stand up to the use i put them through. Ive a otto bock knee that does really good though. My first knee was a Taylin (spelling ?)and it broke alot. But anyway , thanks for the idea.

I think this foot will help with that. I am going to try to make a bonus video of me driving my husband's stick shift later today when he gets home! Otherwise, my friend has a right BK and he drives his stick shift just fine without a problem.

Just an hour ago I got the sutures removed from my toe. (I had ingrowing toenail on right big toe.) I can somehow feel the pain on the sutured skin post-amputation.

in oz the top of the line boots are stockman called r.m. williams they have a 2inch heel n i had the same prob so i got a bootmaker to double the thickness of the sole works ok

During my 48 years as a prosthetist is was not uncommon for prosthetists to tell amputees they could not wear high heels shoes even though the Kinsley High-Style foot for up to 3” high heels has been around decades. The Hyda-Cadence knee-foot system had an adjustable foot from flat to 3” and was around before I started.

How many guys go up to you and say how awesome your tattoo is on your leg when your wearing a dress or shorts because that's the only thing I can focus on when your trying to show your prosthetic leg.

maybe the feel of a "dead spot" can be achieved after a very very long walk at sustained speed, for people that don't walk in general. The next day your feet feel like you can start the "walk", but as soon as you try to roll, the foot just slams on the ground and doesn't roll nicely ehehe Anyway is interesting indeed seeing how to cope with common things by an amputee! A friend of mine had a femur amputation after an accident, but never wanted a prosthetic for some reason.

Christina, Can you please address the sensitive topic of sex after an amputation. I mean in general terms. As a new amputee i am curious as to how to approach the situation. Im not asking you to turn this into some sicko porn site, but i would like to know some general rules as how to approach the whole topic with my partner and perhaps a few positions that may be more benificial for each person. I asked my PT guy but he suggested this was more of an OT concern which is why im asking you.

Diana Priest add a strap to that foot! Or you could try Velcro. On one of my shoes I poked two holes in it and added a simple black ribbon to tie it on.
