I really enjoy the Amrut Cask strength and think they have a good thing going for them. It's a nice unique expression.

Blueberries and walnuts - sounds like what I eat in the morning regularly. I finished off a bottle of Amrut Portonova last winter. I found it hot but delicious. When it was cold, we drank it as a Hot Toddy - hot water, lots of lemon, some clove, a touch of maple syrup and an ounce plus of Portonova in a mug. Not what I usually do with a great whisky - but it worked great with this bottle!

Great review Rob. Have you compared this to the Kavalan Solist Port Cask? I'm luvin that one and thinking of getting the Portonova if its in the same league!...Thanks for all the great reviews!.......Slainte'

I have had the Portonova and liked it. I had a cask strength Amrut made from barley grown in the Himalayan foothills of Punjab, and it was alright. I never had the intermediate sherry, although I searched far and wide for it... I'm with you on the Fusion. Mine also evaporated in record time as if someone was helping me empty the bottle even though I live alone. I highly recommend getting another bottle of fusion to you and to myself because I agree that it's the best Amrut if not the best Indian whisky.

foodquig I absolutely love the Fusion. Need to find more of it.

Great review. I tried some of the Amrut at a tasting the non peated cask strength was my favorite of what I had. None of them would be a bad choice.

I have 1/3 bottle of Fusion left, it's yours. Problem is the Fusion being somewhat peated may not make a flight of Amrut's a fair test. The Portonova is my favorite but the IS and the single cask Bourbon matured are right there for me. Last night I had a Amrut Naarangie at a tasting and I was not too impressed with it. Would love to get my hands on the Amrut Rye, Spectrum's are out of my reach with secondary prices in the BTAC/Pappy ranges
@WhiskyInThe66 жыл бұрын
peter white that rye is probably stellar.

By the way, in addition to the Fusion, the Portonova, and the Intermediate Sherry, I also have the Amrut Double Cask which is bottled at only 46% and aged in Bourbon and PX Sherry casks. Have you seen it? Would be curious to hear you compare all 4!

Hi Rob, thank you for doing the portonova. Is it big on port flavours?. Your review doesn't seem to suggest so. How does it compare with a few of the other port finishes, say quinta ruben for instance?. Thoroughly enjoying your videos. keep'em coming.

Vishnu Mohan it’s super sweet but that’s also due to the new oak. Can definitely tell it’s wine aged just not specifically Port.

Hi guys @@WhiskyInThe6 Rob I reviewed that one (I have home as well) I don't think there's other kind of finishes involved except Port (Port finishes can give either a thick fruity feel or a rather winey one-I prefer when it's the first case-and I tried many, coz this is one my favorite finishes) but got no evidence of the contrary as well, so it's just my opinion, my friend. Anyway this one is one of my very favorite AMRUT ever, but I have to say it's very strong on alcohol & dries quickly especially in my rather hot all year long flat, and it has quickly after the opening become undrinkable without water...

Hey Rob, I had a personal tour of a new bourbon distillery called Second Sight Spirits in Kentucky. They have a handmade one-of-a-kind still with a crystal ball. Coolheck it out if you get a chance I posted the video yesterday let me know what you think. Thanks John
