Interssting video ,but why not just read the amps draw on the clamp meter display you should be able to see 55 amps on that?

Hi David. It is. Though you have to be careful of cylinder shut down, where the ecu sees a misfire & turns the injector off. The scope offers a better more clear test

no its NOT advisable dude, The ecu sees it wrong and shuts it down (emission protection) noid light is old school, we use Pico scope (oscilloscope) now to prevent this. cars are getting super tricky to diagnose and expensive equipment is needed, just not over priced SNAPON stuff lol. btw not dissing chris, he does a great job.

What settings do you habecthe scope set to? Where do normally ground the scope. I just need to polish up on reading oscilloscope data and im on my way

For injector voltage testing you probably want to be in the 400v range. The good thing about scopes is you cant mess it up. Once the leads are attached just move your voltage & time base till you get a good waveform. The more you do it the better a feel you'll get for what to expect.

@Ams-Mobile Uk nice I'm getting good with diagnostics can lin bus cam crank etc but injectors could do with polishing up on. I know you can use an attenuator for when the injector discharges but ours is a snap on zeus so dunno if it needs one. I know vag engine's don't normally through codes for injectors I did a leak off test last Skoda I fixed. I found because you have to remove 2 simultaneously on the new ones I normally have to replace 2 and they're not cheap. Keep the videos coming!

you never showed the fault code,, ,mmm let me guess cylinder 2 open or short circuit , no need for the extra drama mate sorry, plus prove the the mechanical with a relative compression test (amp draw per stoke) would helped fast diagnosis, just sayin.
