B&B Amsterdam. I love this place for their lunches! For this breakfast test they were not the cheapest though...
Ikea Amsterdam - Budget breakfast for one euro only! Pretty far out of town though...
Hema and Bakker Bart on the Kalverstraat. Right at the center. Note Hema opens at 9 o'clock but Bakker Bart only at 9.30.
Jumbo foodmarket. It's in north, but one of my favorites. Only 1,50 euro - very good quality food and a great ambiance. If the last spot wouldn't be there, this would be my favorite by far!
La Place at the top of the OBA (Amsterdam library). Here you can create your own breakfast, with cinnamon cookies or yoghurt, fresh fruit, granola, eggs - you name it. When the weather is good, go sit outside, the views over Amsterdam are amazing! For 3,25 euro each - you'll have an amazing starter of the day.

these are some pretty good secrets, most of the tourists don't know. i'm going to adam for the 4th time now, and never knew that i could have a cheap breakfast with great view at the library! THANK YOU i always bought me a nice sandwich at "backwerk" (2-3 euros) and bought a big coffee for just 50 cents at the LIDL store.

Gedempt Hamerkanaal 223 - it's up north, so you need to take the ferry (the one mostly on the right) and then it's a few minutes by bike or a bit longer hiking.

Croissant with Jam(Marmelade) is actually considered kind of a luxury breakfast here, that's why most of the shops serve it. Normally we just eat bread with meat, cheese or sweets ^^

+David B it's the 'oba' - if you google oba amsterdam you'll find it! It is close to central station, but not on the ferry side. Bread, yoghurt, eggs, juice... it's all available 😊😊

Oh... Now I see the nice Google map you prepared with the locations under "show more". For whatever reason, I have found the area just east of the Centraal Station to be a little confusing. (Thought not as confusing as parts of the Old South with it maze of residential streets.) Any tips? The library seems like a real find and I'd like to visit it next time! P.S. Are you Dutch? You won't get a bike?! It's the ultimate Amsterdam experience ;) And all the local will drive miles around you with their bikes, since they know tourists on bikes are chaos, and they don't want to kill anyone ;) I guess in hotels they serve American breakfast many times. Think the Dutch food culture is not shockingly amazing to be honest. But there are some sweets to be tried :D

Sorry to hear! Could be closed because of the winter. The food is not special perse, that's true. It's good for a cheaper breakfast, but I'd not recommend it for dinner!

Ikea is thé place where they want you to stay/shop, a whole day. I think the concept is the same where ever they are, but i;m not sure. Over here you have Nursery's, and playgrounds, where your children can play while you shop. Stop for cheap breakfast, lunch and dinner, just to make you stay and buy stuff. Going to Ikea, on the second day of Easter, is a day "out", for a lot of people, here. And on that day, the place is packed!

1 Euro = 55 php for breakfast, I think I can afford that....That really shows the Dutch like you has strong bone, muscles and sharp mind to think because of the foods (specially those dairy products) you eat and drink are really nutritious...
