I wish your reviews had a part in them where the sound was turned off and we get to hear how loud the locomotive is at full speed minus the bells and whistles (I don't always operate with the sound turned on cause it gives me a headache after a while). Shame there are no ground lights at this price point. I wonder if the Tsunami chip has outputs for additional lighting? (doubt it).

It's based on tooling. The P42 tooling simply didn't have ground lights in it. It has nothing to do with the sound decoder.

The Tsunami2 has 8 light outputs to do with as you wish. I have added step lights and others using unused FX# lights. Don’t always assume the worst. I hope this helps!

Just watched a video review by Daniel Lucas. His 108 has ground lighting. Not sure how he got it to come on, but I believe they have ground lighting. Excited to get 160 and 161 in!

They don't have them from the factory, he clearly stated in his video that he added those ground lights.

I got the 108 and I love it. I changed the K5LA on it but it’s a very nice model. Still waiting on the 100 but 100 won’t be out until march because they are trying to get the blue correct on it

I didn't notice if you mentioned the numbers are not the same on each side. The left side is too high and the right side is at the correct height according to the actual locomotive.

What function are the rear marker lights on? I have Amtrak 46 and they aren’t coming on. The marker lights in the front work

front should come on in reverse and vice versa. Try F5, F6.

I got the ones from Kato. With some minor detail upgrades and added ESU loksound V5 make slightly better then Athearn. I do have a Via Rail on preorder.

Athearn should really learn from Scale Trains and Rapido. I believe there is no QC to cut cost. Shame on them to produce a Genesis line of locomotive with such a glaring defect.

Given the ridiculous amount Athearn is charging for these, I would’ve hoped for see thru grills throughout. But alas, these are the same bluebox shells with a few added details. Another overpriced swing and a miss.
