Amtrak F40 Horn Show Compilation - You won't believe your ears!

F40s and TONS of unique K5LA action! Train horns are meant to get your attention. The late Pete Staats took it one further and would toot tunes to prevent accidents and trespasser strikes. He also knew of my affinity for train horns and would put on a show whenever he saw me.

*Csx owns few of these F40phs today for their OCS train exeption of 9999 its in YN3B as for the other units they have been repainted into B&O paint scheme and remember to CSX 1 2 and 3 CSX 9999 is in YN3B as of now eventually it will be renumbered into CSX 4*

What year did amtrak retire all of the f40ph's... Bc here in Canada VIA Rail runs 53 of them on there fleet along with 21 P42DC's and back in 2007 the goverment funded via to rebuild all of our F40PH's all tho the prototype (Via # 6400) back in 2010 it was involved in a huge accedent and was retierd and scraped in 2012... but now all 53 of our F40PH's run our blue and grey theme instead of the grey and yellow colour... they look nice with our BUDD coaches and the P42DC's look good with our LRC coaches.

GamersGoneCRAZY 2001, except the exhibit train has Amtrak 406 (F40PH, Phase III) and their Cabbage cars exist (F40s without an engine(needs a P42 for help) and holds baggage.)

GamersGoneCRAZY Actually 406 is an F40, but it's a Non-Powered Control Unit (NPCU) and works like a cabbage car, but it doesn't have the baggage door and doesn't hold baggage. I think some units in the 200 series are F40s.

Union Pacific 2010 Fan it's really to bad if you ask me. the fact that they only have 1 (that still has the phase III scheme) f40ph... I personally think that company's (Like Amtrak and VIA) should egnolage old engines and restore some of them for some kind of heritage runs... The only difference between Amtrak and VIA is they don't have a running "heritage unit" it's only on display and repainted with the Maple leaf on the front... but VIA has dissownd there f units and it's upsetting

xxMineVSCraftxx Gaming & Railfanning F40PHs were taken out of service. 406 is the last one that's not a cabbage car in service, but it's a NPCU, which requires another locomotive with an engine.
