AMTRAK Train ride from Buffalo, NY to Chicago, IL

Cool video. I’m a big fan of Amtrak. Whenever I am on the East Coast, I use it all the time to get to theme parks.

@olsenkated our train to Chi is at 12.40 am. But we are planning to reach the station by 9.30 pm. Is it safe to wait for couple of hours in the Buffalo depew station during the mid night?

We did wait there for a few hours late at night to get back home. I wouldn’t say it was the safest place I’ve ever hung out waiting for a ride, but we were okay with no issues.

You should take a train trip on the Empire Builder. My personal favorite train they offer.

Thinking about the train to chicago from rochester ny. Are you able to get any sleep? Wrigley field is on my bucket list.

We are both good sleepers and slept okay on the train. Super glad to have the roomette to have space to lay down and get comfortable. You should go! It’s better to go and have an okay time (or even better yet an incredible time) then not go and always wish you had.

Hi, how did you reach sheraton niagra falls from depew station? we are planning a trip to niagra from chi through amtrak not sure how to reach niagra from depew

We took an Uber. Ubers can be hard to come by there. It didn’t seem like there were many drivers available during the off season when we were there.

just look at that good looking viewliner diner , waited for awhile for them then when they got them they did away with the good food for the airline style crap claiming know one wanted to eat in them anymore ,that doesn't look like improved service to me , i really believe amtrak can do better

It was nice to have something to eat. Not all things are appetizing after being microwaved. So, if you are ever ordering from their menu, keep that in mind. We got rid of our microwave at home for that very reason. Food tastes so much better when it’s actually cooked. And not having a microwave forces you to heat things up the slow way.
