On April 7th, 2023, I took the Amtrak Texas Eagle from Dallas Union Station down to Austin. Here is all the onboard footage I took with most of it out the back window of the train as my seat was at the top deck of the very last row of the last train car. (Since Covid, Amtrak has done away with the baggage and observation cars shortening the TX Eagle consist down to a measly 2 coach cars, a dining car, and a sleeper car.) Anyways, lots of neat sights along the way with descriptions embedded throughout the video including times and places / railroad subdivisions. Of note were Burlington Northern and Santa Fe original paint units around the Temple area. As we departed Fort Worth and crossed "Tower 55" (torn down months earlier) South, the Union Pacific train waiting had UP 1979 "We Are One" and UP 6378 patched Southern Pacific in consist which you can barely make out due to the distance. SO sit back and enjoy the scenery with bluebonnets, a canyon, rain, freight trains, and more! Thanks for watching!
