BATWING POV - Six Flags America Roller Coaster

Batwing is a lay-down/ flying roller coaster located at Six Flags America, Maryland, USA. 4K POV, 60fps, Front Row on-ride. This great creation made by Vekoma is able to have riders laying on their back, or riding on their stomaches. It's one of the few rides where riders can take inversions on either side because of the position. The attraction is located in the back corner of the park, and is a clone known as the "Flying Dutchman." A model used to be found at Kings Island, "Firehawk," in Mason Ohio, but it was removed in 2018. #RollerCoaster #SixFlags #ThemePark
Carowinds also has a similar model, without a helix at the end. The Six Flags America model is considered to be the best of the remaining Vekoma Flyers, with a widely regarded smoother ride and better experience than its counterpart.

I was extremly surprised when I rode this coaster. Its very good and completely underrated. That Looping, that you are riding in a laying backwards position is amazing! It gives you a real thrill. Its similar to a Prezel-Loop, but still different. It was my favourite coaster in the park and it has its secure place in my Top 15 coasters for sure!

This ride is actually a lot of fun…when it’s operating. I spent nearly all my teenage summer days at either Six Flags America or Kings Dominion. But most of the time I was at six flags, there was no reason to walk all the way to the back of the park past the Jokers Jinx and Superman ride of steel for the Batwing because it was out of service every other visit. Lol

This reminds me of an old coaster they use to have at six flags world of adventure in geauga lake ohio. That was built in early 2000s. Was originally at Geauga lake park called The X-flight! Same lay out n everything was a awesome ride!!

When my wife rode a similar coaster Firehawk at kings island, she was terrified! Like she normally smiles at photos, that time it was pure terror cuz it was a harness holding ur upper body. Nowhere near as sturdy and safe feeling as a solid shoulder restraint! I love this ride but laying on my back like that gives me a horrible headache!

Closest to something like this I have ridden is Manta at SeaWorld. That was very intense. Especially on the flips! I was around 30 when I rode it and growing up could ride anything but Manta had me a little sick after lol. This looks crazy! I'm heading to ride Velocoaster at Islands of Adventure! That one seems very intense as well!!!

Looks like a Dutchman. Carowinds has one... Nighthawk, I think it's called, used to be The Borg Assimilator. Yeah, they're awesome... at least, Nighthawk is... better than all but one (the one being Tatsu at SFMM, which is far longer, with a custom built terrain matching layout) of B&M's flying coasters. It's really too bad Vekoma didn't build more of them.

One of the last of the Vekoma Flying Dutchman’s in existence. Definitely a fun ride when it works. I still prefer the B&M Flyers, but it’s still pretty good. Plus the Vertical Loop is really fun. Also it’s better than Nighthawk.

It's like the opposite to the rollercoaster Galactica in the UK (Alton towers) it leans you forward so you're facing the ground and feels like you're flying. It used to have VR but they got rid of it because it took too much time to clean the VR headsets between rides, but it's an amazing rollercoaster without the VR.
