So many summers in 2000-2006 of going to Six Flags all day and then heading to the Rangers game that same night. So much fun.

This is such a cool series as it is my home park. So glad KZbin exists for niche stuff like this.

I have been looking for footage of the Rangers and Outlaws Wild West Stunt Show for so long now! If anyone has footage of the entire show please let me know! That theater holds so many fond memories for me between this show and its Batman stunt show predecessor. This was a great video and I appreciate the time and attention to detail you've put in!

My dad was the MC and veterinarian for the show. He was also the veterinarian for any animals at SFOT for several years. I’ll check and see if he has any video. I only have pics.

The 2000s was a time to be a kid at six flags in my opinion. I went there 2009 and 2008. Twice each year.

I'm so glad I found y'all's channel! This video bring back so many memories. I lived in Arlington till I was 12, at first my family went to the park at least once every summer, and later starting around 2006 my dad got season passes to take my sisters and I so that on our weekends with our dad we spent almost all of our time at the park. It's crazy to think that as a child I thought most of these attractions that had been favorites of mine had been around forever, but we're actually fairly new at the time, such as the boots ride and wiley coyote when I was little. I've never ridden the Titan, but I always remember just staring at it when in the parking lot, just amazed at its height and being able to hear the screams. And I remember watching the implosion of the drop ride on the news and my mom telling us about how it had been her sister's favorite ride. Though while I usually was not a fan of thrill rides being the scaredy cat I was as a kid, I loved Tony Hawk's big spin. I remember a few days after it opened going and waiting in line for forever but being nervous because I was scared of heights (learned that a few years prior when I rode the Superman tower for the first and last time as my dad and the poor guy on my other side tried to comfort me a screamed and cried in terror). It was so fun though, I think the spinning canceled out the feeling of dropping that made tall rides so scary for me. There was one day where it had been pouring down rain earlier and was still sprinkling, so a lot of people had left early that day, so there was no line for it, so I rode it 19 times in a row! Mostly by myself. I was about 10 at the time as was so proud of myself, bragging to everyone I knew for weeks about it. I also distinctly remember seeing the cirque du ole (I'm definitely misspelling that) a few times and once in the evening towards the end of the show we had a perfect view of fireworks coming from Ranger's stadium, it was so cool. I haven't been to the park since 2009, as my family moved out of state, but I think about the park often. It played such a big part in not only my life, but my family's lives. I grew up with stories from my mom about going when she was a kid and with friends as a teenager in the 80s. I especially can't wait for y'all's video on the 1960s, because my Grandfather worked there around the time that it opened on the Caddo Boat Canoes. He was one of the guys who like paddled the boats, and I really hope y'all talk about it some because there is such little information about it online, and even few pictures. Most of the pictures are from a distance and it would be so cool if more pictures are out there because I just want to be able to identify my grandfather in one of those pictures.

I have a random question, where was Wildcatter’s entrance, I’m curious because it doesn’t look like it was where Pandemonium’s entrance is.

Roughly where the staircase up to Pandemonium’s station is. The entrance faced the games midway. Pandemonium’s main entrance is where USA Stage sat.

Uhhh one thing the “wild catter” was called cliffhanger at some point. I can remember my parents telling me they rode it before when I was very little when it was still up and running. Also the tony hawk one was called pandemonium when it first came out then they rebranded it with the tony hawk theme after a few years.

The Decade in Review videos are a literal year-to-year history timeline. Not what the ride may be presently called, but what the ride was called in the time frame of the video. The Intamin Freefall attraction was known as Texas Cliffhanger from 1982 to 1994. The name of the ride was then changed to G-Force in 1995 as that section of the park was refreshed to fit in with the Adventure Theatre’s Right Stuff show. In 2001, once Right Stuff was a craze of the past, G-Force was renamed Wildcatter until it was imploded in 2007. The spinning coaster was originally named Tony Hawk’s Big Spin when it opened in 2008. In 2011, Six Flags opted to not renew their licensing agreement with Tony Hawk and the ride was simply named Big Spin. In 2012, the ride’s name is changed to Pandemonium, which is what it currently is today.

I believe it belonged in the 80’s or 90’s episode but I think you forgot the spindletop. The one where it started spinning and you stuck to the wall while the floor dropped out kinda like the gravitron fair ride. Was heartbroken when they took it out 😢 Edit: nvm I found it on the 80’s episode, forgot how old it and I am 😆

Could you do another version for SFFT during that time period? And the park that I wish wasn't closed would be AstroWorld in Houston because that park was my mom's favorite she loved Texas Cyclone and Greezed Lighting so much I showed my mom a video of the history for AstroWorld and when she saw it i could tell that she was reminiscing about that park she and her dad used to go there a lot when she was little and fun fact Texas Cyclone was her first Roller Coaster to ride and a few years ago at a GoodWill store in town I found a keepsake cup from AstroWorld it had Texas Cyclone on it and the old AstroWorld logo I showed it to her and it brought a smile on her face because she told me that AstroWorld was her favorite theme park

Why doesn't six flags use the amphitheater anymore?
@AmusementSource
@AmusementSource 4 жыл бұрын
It is used here and there for larger events and competitions. The park's entertainment department no longer uses it for any kind of production, likely due to lack of budget and resources. Its initial purpose was to house large concerts. It did this for many years, even into the mid-2000s. It just isn't really part of the Six Flags model anymore. Six Flags Over Georgia also had a large amphitheater that was demolished a number of years ago.

@@AmusementSource if they aren't gonna use it that much, they should demolish it to make room for a new ride or something
@AmusementSource
@AmusementSource 4 жыл бұрын
1) I don’t think they could afford to demolish it. 2) I don’t know what ride they’d build considering almost everything installed during the last management regime was lackluster.
