I rode Spinnaker as a kid and when I went back in later 90's I couldn't find it and thought it might have just been a dream. Thanks for settling this uneasy feeling. Also sad to see the plane ride that I rode as a kid is gone now.

Man, those EPIC batman and western stunt shows, how I miss them! The 90s were when I was there the most as a child with my family. I wish the park was like it used to be; it is so dilapidated and unmaintianed now. That new DC area is an eye soar. The whole park has lost its magic and it is not an experience I currently as a young adult wish to experience. I honestly have no desire to go there anymore and I'm only 2 hours away. Sad.

The Right Stuff was my jam back in the day. And I remember when I was finally tall enough to ride Flashback. My dad and I rode it multiple times that day, and my neck was so sore. But it was worth it.

Man, the memories... don't mind me, I'm still over here mourning the Spees.... This one and the next one (80s - the one in which I am reserving my mourning for LaSalle's...) were the ones I was looking forward to the most, as I didn't start going regularly until 1983 or so. Great stuff, thanks!

I started coming to the park at the beginning of the last decade and looking at it now, it’s definitely gone down hill. I really hope one day this park is brought back to life like it was in the 90’s😔

I was 6 when I first visited Six Flags in 1999. Mr. Freeze and Batman were just built. I was too short to ride them, but I remember the lines being VERY long on the weekends.

I miss the stunt shows so badly. Thanks for the nostalgia! Also... no wonder they put goggles on the Mr. Freeze animatronic. The initial version without them is way weird 😂😂😂

Oh man, the 90's! I was born in August of 1989, so the 90's were my childhood and it was awesome. My family went to Six Flags so much be it Spring Break Out, Holiday in the Park, or just a regular visit. I used to adore both the Batman Stunt show (both the Penguin and Joker versions) and the motion theatre (The Right Stuff and DinoIsland were both magical for me). Of course, the line wait was horrible at the motion theatre but always worth it. For years, The Texas Giant was like a legend that I was too scared to ride as a kid but finally I asked Dad to take me on it and it was scary yet so worth it. I just love Six Flags Over Texas!

I believe that the park may be gradually attempting to restore some of its former glory, but I regret to say that I do not believe it will ever be able to recapture the magic of the late 1980s through the 1990s. Personally, I feel that this was the park's most successful period. Perhaps my opinion is influenced by the fact that I was born in 1982 and grew up in the area. The flood of memories transported me back in time. My nine-year-old son watched the videos from the 1980s and 1990s with me. My family visits the park quite frequently now, and he remarked, "Daddy, I wish I had been born back then." The fact that a nine-year-old can perceive the magic from a video speaks volumes. I am unsure of what it will take, but the live shows were fantastic, and the park had a distinct ambiance.

The speaker box off of Skeletor‘s castle…. Was perfect for a 12-year-old to say. I am Arania … the black widow bride, step into my 13 rooms of doom….. ah ha ha ha ha ha ha …. Standing in line anywhere during fright nights or the latter fright Fest…. You were bound to hear that on continuous loop…. Memorize it, love it, imitate it !

I was stationed in Texas in the early 90's. Our family made several trips there, especially after I discovered the military rec services had discount tickets and two day tickets were a bargain. We could stay at a nearby motel and have a good time in the park. One motel was close enough to walk there, get a hand stamp for reentry, go to motel for lunch, and return for the evening. Remember the OK Corral show, the animal show, the magic show, and the Red Garter revue. Lots of good times there. I'm sorry to here that it is not what it once was.

This is back when Six flags was an experience. It had amazing shows, food and you felt like it was a different special world. Now it's more of an let me hurry up and ride some rides with my kids. Nothing to do but rides. Food costs are ridiculous and not really worth it. Park looks like an unmanicured Lott that someone took rides and stuck them in the middle. Looney toon characters are now scarce and far in between .

The Speelunkers cave being replaced with the Yosemite Sam ride was my first adolescent taste of Six Flags disappointment. :/ The second, and biggest, was my beloved Spinnaker being replaced with a roller coaster that didn't go fast, didn't go high, and was advertised as being "in the dark" but light leaks all over the building meant that I could see plenty of the less-than-thrilling track coming.

My favourite is the construction of boomtown depot and the debut of boomtown crossing this crossing features a custom built wig wag crossing gate signal And a conventional crossing gate signal with teardrop bell Facing next to each other they were originally fitted with vintage A-frame wooden wishbone type gates but as of 2021 they have been replaced by single bar fiberglass gates because the wood in the A-frames was beginning to deteriorate which is very sad now shock wave crossing the roundhouse crossing and the overflow entrance crossing are the last three crossings on the Six flags and Texas Railroad that still have wooden A-frame wishbone type gates

The funny thing is, I never went to the shows. I simply went for the amusement rides, coasters, etc. The Texas Giant is my favorite coaster at this park to this day. I like the revamp of that as well. I have not visited in eleven years. It might be time to return, although I would have to look. I do not think they have any new attractions. Maybe I am wrong.

I went the most during the 90s. I lived there as a teenager. 96-98 were the most years I was there. I was a goth kid who worshipped Marilyn Manson lol. So many of us goth kids hung out at the Front entrance by the lake. It’s soo silly now but we were called, “ The family” we would get kicked out all the time by security to either go in the park or leave lol. Is there anyone here that remembers that or was a part of that group? Lmao so many fun memories!! 😅
