I never gave the appearance angels any serious thought, but this video makes me think of some other questions you may consider for another presentation. For example, why are some angels shown as male, some female, and some androgynous? The halo is another thing I'm thinking about. When did artists add that, and why? Did the halo appear on angels the same time that it appeared on God and the saints? (I think I'll put van Eyck's Angel Gabriel on my pride flag!)

Yes, the gender is a topic for a video next week or the week after. Another topic I am looking into is the size of the angels. Across paintings, you see angels of adult size, teenage size, and those that look more like cupids.
