Not to mention how realistically they portrayed it with Nathan going around in circles, because if you're not trained in navigating the desert you would absolutely get lost like him. Okay, Drake not picking up supplies after the plane crash, and not even getting a chance to drink and rest a little after barely surviving the baking heat of the Rub’al Khali desert has been my one real frustration with this game from the very first time I played it. Listening to Amy honestly assess exactly that and lament not having the time or budget or retcon-god powers to fix that one specific thing? Direct proof of one of the many reasons she’s so great. She’s constantly thinking and looking to improve, without being tortured or dramatic about it! I admire her so much for her passion, no matter how much she happens to understate it!

Love Amy hennig! She is a true pioneer in gaming! Started as an artist, worked her way up ended up writing and directing the Legacy of Kain series and Jak and Daxter series which are both legendary in their own right. Uncharted may stand as her greatest achievement in gaming as it set so many bars for what an action game should be and rivals most major motion pictures in its storytelling . I feel like there is less criticism about the desert like Amy said. I think the bigger derailment is Yemen to the desert cause the whole cruise ship scene is entirely pointless and exists mostly for a nice setpiece but from a story standpoint it’s really bad. I also just found the discovering of the Iram of Pillars just came out of nowhere. Like you are in a sandstorm and then literally there it was just one of those wtf moments unlike the amazing building of Shambalya. Still love all the Uncharted games but 3 had the most jarring story. Lots of cool moments but also lots of head scratching moments. I've gotten so used to seeing Richard McGonagle in every episode that he's become a series regular at this point. He's a great guy that compliments Nolan North quite nicely. They have some amazing chemistry that definitely shines through. On the plus side, the legendary Amy Hennig is here to enlighten people with her knowledge and intelligence. She's essentially the cool school teacher that can I listen to for hours without ever getting bored. Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception was the final Uncharted game that released for the PS3 back in 2011 and it was one of the earlier titles that I picked up when I bought my PS3 at the time. There will always be a special place for it in my heart. Then again, I can say that for every entry in the Uncharted series. Amy is very self conscious about the desert sequence. It's one if the best sequences in the game, and made the game better for having it. It's one of the things i remember most fondly. Sure this game is not as highly regarded as 2, but i think it's mostly a pacing issue.
