Absolutely 100% agreed with Amy. As a gamer for over two decades I do feel alienated from the current content. Last generation I bought games very regularly now I could count on one hand the amount of games I have bought in the last five years. I hope Amy gets to put out more games and if she applies the logic she spoke of I would pre order ever single game she makes with this mentality. You rock Amy don’t change hopefully the media will change for us like you stated.

the thing is i buy story games knowing that Taylor kurusaki and couple naughty dog devs that worked on uncharted are working at infinty ward for cod mw i ordered that quickly. i even ordered jedi fallen it felt like uncharted you know the old adventure style and i am a star wars fan. i even ordered uhm death stranding. it's really weird that all the games i have ordered came in 2019. i felt like the last gen was the golden age every year we had amazing new games from great devs, we had halo we had spec ops the line jason bourne splinter cell uncharteds last of us killzone rage HAZE wheelman assasins creed and more. the last year in generaly has only been call of duty sure 2018 had god of war and rdr 2 . but 2019 has allot more cod mw, death stranding, Jedi fallen, days gone.
@agentandrewmiltonpinkerton98185 жыл бұрын
but i do feeel like now days games are for everyone not a problem at all but back then you kinda had to use your head nowdays it tells you go that way come on hurry up to remind the player of their objective. also what is missing now days is like i said every year we use to had amazing titles the past 3 -4 years has nothing been more like assasins creed cod ac cod ac cod. 'but i have heard that glenn scolfield has a new studio so maybe that may change as well. but i do hope more studios will rise and shine

Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, Legacy Of Kain, Soul Reaver, Uncharted. These two are absolute legends. Heavyweight champions in the gaming industry. Naughty Dog brags about representation and woman empowerment, yet they pushed away the woman that should have had full creative control over their biggest franchises. Such a shame!

@@Rorschach1998 As Gigel states the issue is that they have good values - female empowerment and reprsentatation, but their actions don't follow. To solve that we need feminism to be more commonplace, instead of people getting knee jerk defensive every time it's brought up.

I agree that the future of gaming could/should be available on a streaming basis - but the communications infrastructure necessary is most often much greater than that required for music/film etc. South Korea could probably do it well right now, but certainly not the US/Europe. I took a PS Now trial on my Sony TV. It was kinda cool playing console games w/o a console (I actually had the console) directly on my TV, especially since I didn't own some of the games. But I didn't renew the subscription, because it was waaay too expensive and the performance sucked (and I had pretty good broadband by UK standards). Expensive and sucky is a tough sell.

Some really nice thoughts from Amy. I remember being a kid and wanting to be a game designer. But I HATED the techincal part....I'm as far from a computer geek as you can get. I think what awed me as a kid was the POTENTIAL for these virtual interactive worlds. But a lot of gaming is very formulaic, the industry has a lot of patterns and by now traditions and set paradigms. I sure don't see VR and staring at your phone, like Amy pointed out, as revolutionary/the future/evolution. Intuitively it feels we can do MUCH more with the medium. And I think the emphasis SHOULD be on seeing games as essentially - virtually interactive worlds. Think of how many other labels et attached by defauly when we think of what a "game" is. But at the core........that's what the actual hardware enables us to do. Interacting in virtual worlds. If we design experiences with THAT in mind.............THEN I think we could really channel our creativity. It's all the other rules and expectations that stiffle that, imo. And make even people like me who consider themselves gamers at their core.........completely disinterested with most gaming out there. It's just not alluring enough.
