Amy Hennig has such interesting ideas. Her perspective on games is one I hope we see more of in the future.

I used to want to be a game designer and one of the thigns I striked me was that all my favourite games involved violence. I'm glad Amy shares my preference for non-violence. But it's funny how it's so difficult to think of fun gameplay mechanics that are addictive and rewarding and are easy to weave into a narrative. I like adventure games, the odd strategy game.....but the fact of the mater is that games with violence give you that KICK. I wonder if it's just a reflection of where we are as a culture....where these primal reward instincts are still associated with "getting 'em" in that way..........maybe in a more loving world in general....like an alien society more advanced than us............their games would never feature violence.

1:01:00 to 1:02:15 mark. She refers to research as procrastination, welp! I do that all day. And she's right, I feel guilty spending hours-on-end performing research and less doing the hard practical work.

Personaly when you think about soul reaver and the creators you imagine very interesting things that will come later, but in the end is the industry that is behind all and all....and in the end it never was that interesting
