Because, with TV shows, you don't have to commit. You can stop at any point, unlike a movie, where you feel like you have to watch it through to the end. But you won't. You'll watch 6 episodes of The Office in a row instead. At least I do.

“Flashy trash”, instead of more worthy black productions. “Weird Europeans” making these decisions, and not any Black people on the board is a lack of diversity (why not also mention Asians and Hispanics, etc, or do AA represent every ethnicity now?)? Way to insult everyone who made these films and programs, and the people behind this show. They’re definitely not hosting the GG anymore.
@sadrevolution

@@samuraigundam0079 Way to extrapolate an extreme statement ("way to insult everyone who made these films and programs") out of a more balanced one ("some flashy trash") and then argue against something no one is saying. Good for Fey and Poehler for saying something. They're not wrong.
@lynnecross9810
@lynnecross9810 3 жыл бұрын
@@samuraigundam0079 the reason they didn’t mention other people of color is not because we AA’s represent every ethnicity but because the HFPA DOES include a number of POC it’s just that not a single one of them are black and hasn’t had a black member since 1987. But whether it had been no black members, or Asian members, or Hispanic members, etc either way it’s lacking diversity because that’s an entire culture being shut out in an organization that’s responsible for reflecting the world we live in not part of it.
@samuraigundam0079
@samuraigundam0079 3 жыл бұрын
@@lynnecross9810 I don’t think anyone wants to be hired based on their ethnicity, rather than being qualified for the job. I’m not saying that there are no qualified AA out there, but that doesn’t mean they are purposely keeping them out, like their statement seems to indicate. Also, their insults toward the film makers who’s productions were nominated was really uncalled for. Don’t step on other hard workers to justify your statements. EDIT: I should also mention that they also said that they picked these productions over what they claimed were better productions by and featuring AA, because AA always make better productions and never make flashy trash? How are they even sure there were better productions by AA last year. There were also a good amount of AA productions and actors nominated and were winners too.
