So painful to watch-but this version of "Valerie" IMO represents her genius more than most. She twists , turns, mutates, elevates, and transforms the lyrics, the notes , the rhythm-and all both perfectly -and brilliantly. Just beyond belief. Her heart was almost busting out of the dress. Insurmountable loss, and in truly rarified air. Maybe incomparable as unlike Janis, Billie etc-she was a brilliant composer as well. Just no words...RIP. I don't know how she was able to be on stage so hurt and sing those sad, sad words with such emotion in her voice and on her face. I give her a lot of credit for something so hard to do. She was in real bad shape but obviously she thought she'd be ok or perhaps she just decided to go with "whatever happens."

This is so crazy!, I just have these separated videos and I was thinking to put them together last week. Now I don´t have to, but I want to add them spanish subtitles because I love the way she improvises and changes the lyrics and talk about her Blake and the alcohol problems. I think they should've had interviews with Amy's band to find out why they continued to play for her when she was so fucked. So what if her voice was working... she was so disheveled it's hard to watch.

I agree with you. But I think Amy was very stubborn and really wanted to perform in front of large audiences, even though some people warned her against it (I remember hearing one of her friends saying that in an interview somewhere). As far as we know, her band may have expressed some concern for Amy, but it did no good. Either that, or it was all about the money :(. Poor Amy, I miss her so much. RIP.
